Tamiya TRF416 / TRF416WE / TRF416X

Gear diff again......
I race indoor on medium traction carpet, not the best carpet.
Have tested diff oil from 600 to 3000
Maybe the gear diff will be better outside on good traction.
I practice with jr. European champ, hi also have the same problem with his Xray, loose grip / control on high speed corners
Yupp, had to use ball diff again :-o

Interesting comments on gear diff.
On every car I have tried I prefer ball diff, but then I experienced the awesome TRF 416X...what a car.. I tried the gear diff and absolutely love it. Cannot imagine using the ball diff again.
1000wt oil there is so much more turn in and it also as a bonus eliminates exit push.
Going into sweepers at high speed there is much less stability. Change your technique. If you come off the throttle you will spin out. Lift and its ok. There is nothing wrong. Come off too much..and you'll spin out. That is fine..it forces you to carry the speed into the corner.
You need to stay on throttle through all corners, and exactly the right amount of throttle to keep the car stable without pushing or hooking.
I think I just discovered the benefits of an edgy car.. its fast
Do it right and you get the benefits of more turn in and awesome exit traction without push...its great !

I noticed that Tamiya discontinued the 416 Lipo upgrade already.. a little soon if you ask me!
Anyone know if the 417 chassis works with the 416?
PS I Know Smokem / Exotek are still available.. Im just curious about the 417.

I have a 416x upgrade set lipo chassis for sale if anyone is interested. It is listed in the for sale forum.

Too steep for me.. I'll settle for the Exotek or Smokem when the time comes..

Agree with you Hana166
If you donīt let go of the throttle quick when turning in, yupp it will work.
Seems that you must change your driving style to get satisfied with the gear diff !

But if you want to put in more resources than you can put in, it says "build/upgrad your sios". Guess that needs to be fixed. If you donīt let go of the throttle quick when turning in, yupp it will work.

Anyone know if the TRF416 spool would fit in a TA-05?

Will not fit,
is too wide.
The spool outdrives will fit when you drill a new hole in de solid axel.
