Hi
Anybody out there using 3R gear diff in their 416 ?
I try to use this, but my car get loose in the rear when I does guickly take off throttle and turn, it will spin around. I drive in a medium grip carpet, using Sorex 28 tires. I did try the old ball diff, and yes the car handles much better.......
I use 1000 xray oil in my 3R diff, filling it to the crossbar inside.
Anyone have any idea why my car slips in the rear with the gear diff ? and what should I do to get the 3R gear diff right ?
I tought I did came to heaven now, not needed to build ball diffs anymoore

Try a little more rear droop to see if this helps with the issue....I had to add a little more to my car when I went from the ball diff to the Gear diff. You might have too thin of oil so it will unload faster making it slip....more rear droop will help this if this is whats going on.

thats a photo of the droop.

i m looking at this setup http://www.petitrc.com/reglages/tami...buryNOWRd3.pdfand if i have 6.5mm on the front of droop no way i can get 5mm on the ride height, the max i can go is 3.5mm.
what mi missing??

Here is how you set it to this droop setting.
Get your car to 5mm right height...with tires and everything else so its RTR.
Then lift up on the front of the car until you can slide your ride height gauge under it at 6.5 then set the droop screws to where they just touch the chassis at this setting.
You will be at 6.5mm of droop...or 1.5mm over 5mm ride height.
Measuring it with the blocks under the chassis might not get you the same results depending on what blocks and gauge you have.

I think the 6.5mm droop on the set up sheet is 1.5mm over 5mm ride height. Its common for people to list the droop this way.

Yes....with the ride height gauge under the chassis at 6.5mm....this will give you 6.5mm of droop for the size tires you have.

Hey Yall,
Looking for a setup that would be similar in handling to the stock 417 setup...
Any suggestions would be great!

Thx Kevin K for help with gear diff problems !!! I will test it out this weekend.

2.0 to 2.5mm over ride height....less droop for more corner exit steering.
