Just a qyuestion guys. how good does the 416 go on a tight slippery track? what other tuning options should be purchased when buying the kit?

Not yet; but I'm watching Dinball's RC Mart online store for pre-order. His web site is the only site that is following the TRF417's latest news. According to the news, Tamiya should make an announcement some time in October. I'm betting that they're probably trying to tie it in with the same timeline release as the AE TC6FT.

Other unconfirmed web sources put the release date closer to Christmas. Either way, I'm very interested in signing up on a pre-order list, whenever I find one!

Ok, so I managed to strip my rear belt on my 416. Is there a difference in going to the low friction belts? Will they not leave little shavings in my pulleys like the originals, will they last longer? Not much difference in price so I'll probably get them anyway, just 'cause they are white. Anybody have any working knowledge with them?

How loose do have the belts at? Too loose and you'll be eating through belts quite easily.

It's just stock class so they were kinda loose, but not overly so. They have lasted me over two years of racing plus whatever the previous owner had it for.

I stripped a rear belt AND the center pulley for the rear yesterday running mod
