Well figured I would provide a report on the new Tamiya Lipo Chassis. I ran it for the first time last night. Overall I am really impressed with how it works. I put it on my car and went faster then I have ever gone on our track. The chassis does feel a little bit more stuck then the regular 416X chassis, but seems to be a lot more nimble. The only change I made from my old chassis to the new chassis was a little thicker oil up front. The Lipo holding arms seem to work well., but on a big impact can move a little. I would say that make sure they are cranked down pretty well so that things don't move.
This chassis feels very consistent from left to right and provides an improvement on overall corner speed. I really feel like I can drive the car a little harder and seems to hold traction very well.
I would say that overall this chassis improves on the huge successes of the original 416X.
Syndrome may have a little different opinion on this, so maybe he can provide his insight as well.

The Tamiya by design is a pretty aggressive car, so finding the right setup is key for your driving style. The team setups tend to be very close to what a car should feel like on the track. I have found over years of testing that where those guys end up is pretty close to perfect as a base setup. Keep in mind that they are all working with the designer of the car so they have some serious insight into what the car should do on the track. I think the Tamiya has made me a better driver, but not for lack of frustration. It is almost like you have to give in and succome to the power of the blue before you really start to understand what the car can do. The 416X is an amazing car and if nothing else will challenge the driver every day. I have found that if you put a team setup on your car and it is not good (assuming the same kind of conditions) then it is probably the driver. My driving style has changed a lot (for the better I think) over the past year and I think the 416 made me do that.
I have run almost every car on the market (Just ask the locals) and I can tell you that this car has a higher ceiling then any other car I have ever tested. It has made a fool of me and made me look like a pro on many occasions. When you get it right with this car it is simply bliss.
I guess I have been drinking the koolaid for real and it is blue!

I also ran the chassis for the first time yesterday, unfortunately I'll have to wait until tomorrow to have it timed and see if it's any faster. I didn't find that it made the car any more stuck but I did feel like the steering was more aggressive and the car changed direction better. The difference wasn't night and day though so unless it's much faster on the track tomorrow then I've say it's a nice to have rather than a must have
My testing was on med grip asphalt btw

Hi guys, would like to know if anyone has got titanium axles in their 416WE/X? Does #53681 fit our cars?

What about the Smokem chassis?
http://www.smokem-racing.com/416FX.html
It is a bit more thin so may not be the best for carpet/rubber racing.

first meet last night in 10.5 with the new tamiya lipo chassis and have to say extremely happy =D car worked so well with quick direction changes, was very easy to drive and with only 2 minor setup changes it was only 3tenths off mod car lap times... i would definitely recommend it
