mmm got my tamiya lipo deck yesterday - thanks RC Market, that was super quick! I have it mostly installed now, can't wait to give it a run on Sunday, it's a lot narrower than I thought it would be

I think they will with a bit of shimming, the 511 looks slightly narrower but my verniers ran out of battery so I cant tell for sure

The new top deck is a bit narrower as well. You don't have to cut your servo ears off, and the pinion is much easier to get at from the top.

This new chassis from Tamiya is excellent. Gonna test it on the rug tomorrow.

If i fit the New li-po upgrade chassis set from tamiya to my 416WE , i know i cant fit the top deck and must use my WE top deck which is ok with me, but does anyone know if doing that will effect my posibilities of different li-po's fitting??

I figured I would post my setup that I used at Norcal this weekend from the ROAR Nats...Not sure if anyone wants it but I found my car pretty good and really easy to drive.

No, the lipos should all fit the same. Looking at the top deck the front is narrowed more than the back so it should yield a bit more steering than the standard X top deck

are you really using hole 3 on the front arms?

Looked at your sheet. To me, at Norcal, Solaris felt like they fell off after one run and just became victims of the current heat of the track. And to others, they felt like they lasted forever. Inconsistent. Some people swear that 1 degree of camber is how to run solaris, since they have such a skinny insert anything more inner grooves of death. But when the tires only last just over a couple runs, inner grooves of death don't matter.

Art shared his setup with me at the NorCal ROAR Nats and it worked well ( thanks again ). Only difference was I was using a speed 6 and left the front wheelbase spacers at 2 and 2 only due to not having the chance to try it with 1 and 3.

Kudos to your great A main result. it was a stacked 17.5 Expert field.

I tested the LiPo chassis tonight on carpet. I was struggling through some other problems that held me back a bit, but my initial impression is that the car is a lot more nimble, and makes quick direction changes more easily without upsetting the car. I felt like I could drive it harder in fast sections without risking stepping out.

The new top deck is surprisingly narrow. It felt like the car generated more mechanical grip, and was very planted in the rear. For me, on high traction carpet, it's not really the feel I'm after. But other guys will undoubtedly make it fast, so I suppose it's just a matter of preference. I'm gonna put the WE bits back on the LiPo chassis, they definitely fit fine.

You know what's interesting? The LiPo conversion kit says it's "made in the USA." But it's not available here.

It sounds like the chassis combo might have more flex if it's making more mechanical traction. Maybe it'll work better in high bite with the standard top deck?
