not only are the 1.5mm pins weak, the shaft is weak too. Once the shaft breaks, thats it! Cant buy the shafts alone!
I have 2 sets, one for my tamiya, one for my xray, and in 2 weeks I have broken half of them. I have no confidence in them anymore, not knowing whether I would finish a heat/race!

I made a chart that calculates final drive ratios.
Whats the best way to get there.. for instance a 93T spur with 54T pinion or a 76T with 44T pinion..
Would such a spur work or would it be too small?

Motor position has been shifted 1mm to center for optimum chassis balance.
Rear ball differential has been shifted 1.8mm towards the rear to improve rear traction and acceleration.
Wider front bulkhead attachment screw positions and a new lower deck shape enhance the chassis' front rigidity.
Features new carbon 2.25mm lower and 2mm upper decks.
Front pulley features a direct coupling while the center pulley also features a direct drive setup.
Newly designed parts such as lower and upper decks, rear drive belt, front and rear lower bulkhead, motor mount, center bulkhead, and motor mount support included.

Have any of you tried the TOP CVD sleeves on your 416? It might require the TOP axle since it has a retaining flange on it, but I think that's a direct fit with the rest of the 416 stuff.
For those of you that haven't seen, rather than secure the CVD cross pin with a set screw, there's a sleeve that goes over that entire portion of the CVD and holds the pin in place. It's retained on one side by being up against the hub, and on the other side it's got a slight flange on it. It's a really slick design, and supposedly helps free up the CVD's somewhat.
In other news, those pics from Japan of all the 416's with the LiPo specific parts on them... is this the earliest after a kit release we've seen new stuff being tested? I've been trying to decide if I want an X before IIC in Sept., but it sure seems like it might have a short life now that Tamiya is finally (and lastly) acknowledging that people haven't used NiMH in 2 years.
And man, I love how my WE rotates with the 2.5mm chassis on it in high traction. I might just hang on to it this year and skip the new kit.

Apologies for cutting the quote down a bit.
I would personally imagine Tamiya may be testing this new chassis and top deck (I can't see anything else on the car that is different) ready for the Worlds in mid July. I reckon that we could possibly then (depending on how the testing and Worlds go!) see a new car around October/November time, ie pretty much in line with the previous years releases.
But that is just a guess really!
