Tamiya TRF416 / TRF416WE / TRF416X

Wanted to share a couple pictures of my electronics layout. It might help others running lipos. Our weight limit is 51oz and mine will tip the scale at 51.0 to 51.2 depending on the body I am running. It's balanced just about perfectly left to right.
Setup: JR digital servo (full size), AMB transponder, Airtronics DSSS receiver, Tekin RS, Duo2 17.5 w/ heat sink, 30mm fan behind motor, Epic 5000 40c batteries. I run the batteries offset so the bumps under the pack straddle the side of the chassis. I tape the battery in.
The only weight on the car is 1/2oz between the motor and fan, and 1oz directly behind the battery.

I'm also wondering why it looks about 4mm thick???

Their idea was to provide two sets of tape holes that run laterally as well so you can tape your pack in both directions. Of coures you then run the risk of snagging tape at the edge of the chassis. I only see this working well if there is a recess milled into the bottom of the chassis (like the Sakura Zero), for the lateral tape strips...

The tape thing is interesting, though using 3 pieces of tape sounds like a pain. I do think they're on the right track, though. I'd like the option of flipping the belts.

I think the thickness is probably a drop shadow, but it would be nice to know the actual thickness.

3Racing's Sakura's chassis is dialed! they created an indent for the tape on the bottom of the chassis.

This chassis does allow you to flip the belts. You can see the holes cut to clear the pulleys are now centered (and enlarged) to allow pulleys installed in either postiion. It's even got an extra screw hole for the servo to normal, or closer to the center. Pretty nifty. I would definitely try this if I ran a 416...
