My X had wicked corner speed and very good straight line stability that made it easier for me to drive around the other guys in tight situations. I took the win in Touring Stock with the X and 3rd in Touring Superstock with WE. I was very close to Joe Glovers setup on both cars except that as traction came up I added 1mm shims under the outside camber links to keep the car from traction rolling....this change actually worked very well, and I have been experimenting with front arm sweep and ran an F-block in the front mount position to give me 1.5 degrees of arm sweep.....this worked very well in the high speed sweeping sections of the track.
Thanks.........Dwayne Flodell
Great to hear the set-up is working for you! Great job showing the Xray's the way around the track too

With guys using the HPI springs other than the silver what other spring is good to have. Are these better on asphalt or carpet. I've been using the Tamyia spring and really like them but would like to try a progressive spring out.

Just curious if they would be a good size to fit on the TRF415 with 36T Front and Rear pulleys and the 18T center pulley setup.

I got most of the other belt sizes of the whole TRF415 series and 416X car belts. I did order some Hot Bodies Cyclone car belts 170T front and 62T rear for this setup.
Hi
Ionly have the WE belts which are a low friction type.
In the past Tamiya low friction belts are usally 1 tooth
Shorter than the stock belts. Go figure.
Tamiya # 54143 416 low friction front belt 172 tooth 516mm long.
Tamiya # 54144 416 low friction rear belt 58 tooth 174mm long.

For your 415 with 18/36 pullies your looking for around180mm rear,
507mm front.
HB belts work OK

XRay 30-5431 High performance Kevlar front belt 169 tooth 507mm long and
XRay 30-5442 High performance Kevlar rear belt 60 tooth 180mm long are constructed with material that is very similar to the new Tamiya low friction belts
and work the treat on my 415 for years now.
Please everyone , excuse me for using the X word on a tamiya site

Thanks Joe, the Tamiya is really working well for me right now. The Xray guys did not have the corner speed to keep up....2 tenths a lap faster is quite a bit in 17.5 considering we were all running the Tekin RS esc's I have a WCICS series race in 2 weeks, I will see how it goes then and keep you posted.
Thanks...........Dwayne Flodell

HPIs for asphalt, tamiyas for carpet

HPI silver and blue are all I've ever used on the 416, you might want to grab pink and maybe gold as well if you are running in super high grip

As stated above, HPI for asphalt, Tamiya for carpet.

You should get the gold, silver and blue HPI ones.

prob not a bad idea if you're shock ends need replacing tho
It's more for consistency, I've never had a retainer slip into the spring, but I have gotten really inconsistent results when trying to set the tweak on my car using the stock Tamiya retainers.

Gonzo Racing here makes retainers especially for the HPI springs...
