Just to check with you all on the lower deck chassis. Is 416X the same as 416WE?

Toh,

416X chassis is not the same as 416WE's as the rear diff is moved 1.8mm backward but the battery position is the same as the original 416's.

But I got a confirmation from Jilles that the new motor mount could be used on our existing 416 & WE's, but we have to shave off 1mm off the lower deck (motor part).

Cheerios.

Does that mean you cannot use the new rear bulkheads on the older cars? That seems a little silly since they only moved the diff a tiny bit. It could have easily been changed while maintaining the same lower screw positions (especially since the suspension mounts are in the same place)...

To run the new motor mount, you'll also need the new top deck. And to use that top deck, you'll also need the center shaft mount and new rear bulkheads as the 4 sets of holes at the rear are different. And as mentioned u need to shave 1mm off the motor recess. That's a lot of bits for moving the motor in 1mm...

Jonest,

To what I did a physical check the between the 416 & the 416WE. The notable difference is the battery holes are much to the front for 416WE. Hence much of the battery weight are shifted towards the front wheels. Hence the 416 lower deck is not the same as 416WE.

When you say the battery position is the same as the original 416's. Do you mean the 416X chassis is compatible with the old 416?

I was thinking also anyone did modification for the ori 416 to 416X.

Thanks....
