I have actually found the old D block to be slightly wider than the new D block at the pivot holes. It is a tiny difference, but noticeable.

What extra parts are needed for the 416X to be competitive on carpet with rubber tires? I'm debating b\t and T3 and 416X. Seems the T3 doesn't need much to be competitive out of the box. The only one thing recommended to me was their ecc universals, but that's about it.

Ok sorry what is the best in your opinion? What are the popular cars being used?
Im just looking at club racing nothing too serious, but would like to have the “best” around.
Thanks again

If you want the best......you're in the right place. I don't own any of the 416 series but my last TRF kit I bought and ran was the TRF415 MRE. Switched over to 1/8th scale nitro buggy (also a TRF kit). The TRF kits speaks for itself...winning major races and world titles as well.

I run TRF kits because they are among the best in the market no matter what other people say. I too only want the best just like you and that pretty much made up my mind.

for me it would have to be the TRF416World Edition

i changed from the TRF415msxx and i got 1.5 seconds a lap quicker and more consistant , the 415 is an older car so you will probably need some spares as it will be second hand and well used , where as the 416 you can still get new ,

and it was winning races until the TRF416X came out , but the last round of the EST in europe was won by a TRF416 WE over a TRF416X
