Platinum size LiPo are going to be no problem in this car. The motor mount and antenna mount will also work to keep the battery from sliding around, in toward the belt. Awesome.

Default set-up

hey guys,

the setup i posted was using all the stocck stuff including the swaybar. However for the next outing I will be trying more things so I may not end up with all stock pieces. Things i plan on changing are susp. blocks(looks like older ones will fit), short arms, springs and probably swaybars. Dont worry tho, the car handles great the way it is now so dont feel obligated to buy more parts....atleast not yet!

As for for quality of some parts, you guys just may be the pickiest people i have ever seen LOL! Just enjoy the CAR itself!!

Nope, same as 415 (standard LWT version).
Front C-hub, Steering knuckle and rear Hub carriers are all different however. (1050 bearings, slightly wider spacing, and slight geometry changes)

regards
Ed

I was going to go with this as well.... I'll try the car stock to start off, then move the setup closer towards what I currently run on the 415 (certainly in terms of arms, blocks and shocks). So that'll be short arms, 0.5mm under the blocks, and 1.5deg of rear toe in (A/D) with White/Blue springs, no sway bars

I'll leave the rest as is... although I'll measure the car up in a similar manner so I can make up a RC calculator, same as the 415 one I did.

Regards
Ed

Come on Corey, you know Tamiya people, the majority build a car to look at not race.

Can I just use the diff pulley and my existing parts to make a 12 ball diff for my MSXX? I don't think I will be getting a new car.

haha, ya ur right.

One thing people should be happy about is the fact that the old c-hubs fit as well. So until all the parts are available almost all breakable parts(susp. pieces) are interchangeable with the 415 so you can atleast race for the day.

I tried a setup i ran on my 415 but did not like the feel, the main difference being i did not run swaybars on the older car. Corner speed improved dramitcally when i installed them on the 416. However this may be due to the fact i did not have thick enough oil in my shocks.. think of it like lotus's approach , soft springs and stiff swaybars. The real test is when i put my lrp 4.0 back in tho! 19T=tooooooo slow lol

Ug, I found it. I'm in a daze, it's been a long day.

I'm not sure it's going to be easy to properly gear a 13.5 with the 13mm sintered rotor (or a LRP 13.5/sintered). It looks like anything larger than a 47T pinion will hit the top deck. I may have to find some much smaller spur gears.

I think me too...
Maybe "TRF 416MS" OR "TRF 416 MRE"

I don't know but I might be wrong its still looks like a 415... with little tweaks...

Maybe some guys here are already thinking of what the MS OR MRE kit might look like.
