I have a question for you guys on Lipo weight trays. Where are you guys buying them from for your 416's? I've heard there's some that cost as much as $50 and others you have to modify to fit, but more importantly, they help the car handle better than running a strip of lead weights.

I am running a 416WE with a 2.5mm chassis and using SMC and Thunder Power 40C packs. With this combo, there appears to be slightly less than 1mm of space between the top of the battery and bottom of the top plate. Which is the best one for our car?

Thanks, Chris

hey chris, i had that same issue where my smc 5200/40c pack had a 1mm gap between the top deck so i had to mount the battery almost half way off the chassis, i said f-it and sold that pack and i just bought that 4700/40c smc pack. if you hold the car up and manually flex it with the 5200 in it you will notice how it hits the top plate, as far as the tray thing check out ppd or pdp or something its around here somewhere

The ppd tray doesn't move the lipo outside the top deck line so it wont be suitable with the 5200 SMC. Check out the bitty design tray, it isn't cheap but it fits with no mods

Ok I am going to get the 416 I have always wanted to get this car but I just keep putting it off trying to make the car I have work but it is not what I am looking for, I drove my buddy car and it is what I am looking for, now the question is what is the difference between the 416 and the 416WE? if it is only small changes that was made on the 416WE I would go with the req 416 because it cost less and if the changes that were made on the 416WE made the car handle much better then I may get the WE.

Definitely get the WE as it has the updated "Short" suspension & toe-blocks that you will have to add to any other car to keep up (very expensive changeover). Also the fluorine sealed bearings last way longer & don't require any soaking or lube. Simply dust them off & go. The bronze colored shock bodies are the latest super low-friction coating. The one-piece top deck seems to be much better from what everyone is saying as well...

you will spend more converting it an still not have the same results as the battrey will be slightly back in the car

You would need

shorter arms
shorter dog bones
top deck
chassis ???

Probably much stronger & less likely to bend. Of course the only blocks I've ever seen bend are the ones towards the rear of the car on both the front & rear suspension. Probably not worth the extra cost for the front of the rear suspension.

TC crashes typically are in the forward direction. This is why the rearward blocks get damaged. Because the suspension is being pushed back the wall. The arm, hinge-pin & rearward block absorb the impact...

The X-ray is too expensive for parts and the plastic shocks suck.
The split mounts are great . its easier to change a broken arm and makes changing belts that much easier. also have a double setting so you have 2 for the price of one.
