Tamiya TRF416 / TRF416WE / TRF416X
#5956

I imagine they'd have to be the same mounts as the TA05 ver.2 was designed for, which means 2 holes per side. And I'd also imagine that we'd either have to drill the extra holes in the 416's chassis plate ourselves, or Tamiya may offer to sell a new chassis with them incorporated.....

has anyone used these do they work
#5958

There's no reason why they do/don't work. But I don't think they offer any performance gains over the standard blocks. Maybe you save a little weight? And some say they are easier to adjust. But I know I'm happy not to spend money on them.

Yes there's no performance gain from using the separated suspension blocks but it will save you like 2 minutes when replacing a belt, currently you need to remove the inner suspension block when replacing a belt.

Something else I spotted from looking at the TA05v2, is that with the new mounts, it would appear that you effectively get two blocks in one. Swapping the left hand with the right hand will give different pin hole widths. Find a pic of the front of the v2, and you'll see the block tops marked with an A and XA.
At a guess, I would figure they'll come as follows;
X
A / XA
B / XB
C / XC
D / XD
E
F

If they don't bend as easily, I may be in lurve!
So I've been practicing with the car at 1425g in preparation for Vegas, and it feels a bit unsettled. Maybe softer springs all around since there's not as much weight to transfer around? White/Blue seems a little twitchy.

1XA ?
Makes fixing a lower arm faster too.

So I should stay clear of these if I dont want more flex?
We run foam on asphalt and I'm not too sure what more flex in the chassis will do???

Notice that if they are swapped side to side that you have 2 different settings.
IN or OUT.... Pretty cleaver eh?!
