Tamiya took TQ and all the podium in the 3rd round of the ETS series. The youngster Yannic TQ and won the race. Here's the link ETS series

edit: wow I just watched the pro stock videos and Dai was leading A3 before coming unstuck on a dome. Still finished second, and to be honest the guy that won was in a class of his own

Well, I've not mentioned it on my site yet, but this past weekend I had a very good result...
So, I'm happy now to announce, that 416's won both the 10.5 and 13.5 classes in this years Carpet Wars series, held at Maritime raceway in the UK.
Dave Bowen won the 10.5 class, and the 13.5 class was won by...
ME!
Have to admit my final round was pants... mainly as I only needed my closest competitor to not take pole to win. Managed to snap a tpo-deck on the saturday in practise... was a huge hit though! So my mind wasn't really on the track following that.. and it was a tough one, punishing heavily if you made a mistake, but also requiring big cajhones in the faster turns to be quick.
I also reminded myself that I really don't like the feel of the HPI springs on carpet.. and that C/C was too aggressive on the front. Still, championship won
Congrats to Dave B too on his win

Wow congrats Ed, 416s winning all over the shop! I noticed all the drivers in Poland using the tamiya springs too so you must be onto something there
I wish my weekend's racing went as well, instead I did 2 10.5 motors for all of 4 mins on track, and then the final was rained out (not that I would have made the amain)

Whats up with the front c-blocks?
I cant keep 2 good ones on my car .
Seems to me they are way more brittle than the older ones.

Yeah, I follow, I was actually curious about the plastic bits on the shocks. It seems like there are two composites available, one that's dark black, and the TRF low-friction parts that are a light grey. I picked up the low-friction parts for my TA05 thinking it was one of those things it didn't come with, and realized that the 416 doesn't seem to use them either. I'm just curious if there's some reason, like they wear out quickly or something.

Q's 1) I just want to know if this car can be as good on foam as it is on rubber? Our next local race will be carpet foam racing.
2) Do I need to stiffen up the car? What parts do i need to change? 2.5mm chassis? Front ball diff? Springs?
3) Where can I get a basic set up guide for foam carpet racing?
4) Which foam tyres do you suggest? What shore? And trim to what diameter? Will front nitro foam 26mm on all 4 corners works?
Thanks!

Guys... I'm trying to find a TRF 416 WE, where is the cheapest place? Please help! Thanks

What kind of handling do I expect when using foam with this car? Does it have too much grip? Is there anything I can do just to make it work a little bit? I don't want to buy another car just for this one race....

It's confusing since Tamiya lists both as "low friction"
53918 - TRF V parts, Low Friction (gray)
53334 - V parts, Low Friction (black)
