I could not find any plastic outdrives in stock in the U.S.A..So I called Tamiya USA to order direct. Unfortunately, they said they never had any stock and had no clue to when the parts were coming from Japan.
I explained this was disappointing because this is a high wear item that should be replaced regularly for maximum performance. He then suggested i might have better luck if i were to check out a few Japanese websites. Even worse, they too were also out of stock!
Ultimately, I had to resort to purchasing a couple of complete spools for about $60.00 just to get a few STINKING plastic outdrives

What spur and pinion you guys running for 17.5? This'll be my first time running 17.5 this weekend. Just need a ballpark. Thanks.

I was worried about spur size and pinion clearance issues because of limited motor movement and top deck. I have an 87 spur laying around. So I'll try that. I was thinking 3.5~3.7 final pending on track size.
