Look like it just rotates the motor a bit back at the top... so the screw doesnt get trapped by the upper deck. And also it looks like they milled out some weight too! If they wanted flex there they would have omitted the little brace at the bottom. Speaking of bottoms, does anyone want a yellow bikini?

hi guys, before i cut the rear brace on my 416 what can i expect to acheive? would i gain more flex as in using the new top deck, at the moment my car tends to kick the rear end with on power and im struggling to improve this.
also i copied a link for the setup sheets, fill in and print..
but mine just puts a blue solid dot at the number ie where the shock is positioned, is there a way to change this for example on Ed Clarkes setups he had red circles around the desired number..
thanks in advance

You should probably try different setup tricks to get rid of the kick (loose?) on power, like a bit more front droop. I've been thinking about the cut rear brace a bit and I've come to the conclusion that it will flex more than the 1pc deck but will make the car tweak easily. The 1pc deck holds the rear bulkhead sections in-line whilst allowing the left/right sides of the bulkheads to move up and down independently as the chassis flexes torsionally. With the cut brace, the front bulkhead section with the motor mount & spur holder could move side to side in relation to the diff sections as there is only 1 screw in either side and I would imagine if the chassis settled different to how you set it up this would change your rear droop side to side.
Thats my theory anyway, happy to hear from anyone that's tried the cut brace though
+1 on the speedtech recomendation. After I got my 416 from champ a friend wanted one and they were one of the last places with stock, their service was excellent and he landed it for less than I got mine

We have recently changed to the 416. My son drives mod using 3,5 and 4,0 motors.
The problem is stripping rear belts. During yesterdays training he finished two belts.
Does anyone have similar experiences?
I searched the thread and it doesn't seem to be a common problem. Mayby he has done some mistake in putting the car together.

I have ran my 416 all year with a GM 7T delta motor on 5 cell with the same belts and still using them now indoor on 10.5T. I run my belt loose and they appear to be fine

Well.. if thats a new car .. either you set your belt tension too lose or you need to turn the punch controll down a bit .. 3.5 is a lot of motor !

The Tamiya track is still there..but no power to run all my electrical accoutrements. I picked up a mini-cooper and gave it the treatment...that stuff is fun but oh so slow.
Oh yeah...xbox rocks! don't let Fred talk you into anything else haha.
Oh yeah Oh yeah...Corey's living in Lag Beach and he too bought a new car...won't tell me what it is but I'm guessing a Porsche, a Beemer, or a GTR

Are the springs that come with the car considered "short?" What about the milky blue spring kit? I'm trying to figure out the weight in pounds, and having trouble making sense of it.
Are those measurments still accurate? Where do the kit springs (and milky blue springs) fit into that chart?
Purple 22.72
Gray 20.91
White Short 17.24
Blue Short 15.27
White 14.82
Blue 14.08
Yellow 13.33

I am pretty sure that the milky blue springs are the same length as the ones that come with the 416.
