New top deck on Marc's car at the Euro's....

Extend's the sides back, and does away with the seperate rear brace.
Also notice the 42mm rear driveshafts...

The single piece top deck is interesting. I wonder if it'll see production? I was building my IIC car the other night, and it seemed like the two pieces were tight against each other, and wouldn't let the car flex normally. Easily fixed with a file, but maybe not immediately apparent.
I seem to remember XRay saying the found the car more consistent with that style topdeck.

I'll agree with you on the alloy up front... I ain't chancing it anymore, so have steel 44's up there at the moment, with steel outdrives on the spool. I guess it what comes of not hitting anything (!) for a whole run

As for using them, could be trying to get better clearance on the diff nut... I know with the 44mm's the blade runs awful close to the nut under compression... I just shave the blade

Or it could be similar to the off road boys, who help tune the cars with more or less driveshaft plunge, but on the limited travel of a tourer, I suspect it would have minimal difference!

i still run the alum. 44s on the front of my car.. and have yet to break them. *knocks on wood* i am kinda worried that im pushing my luck though. then again i only run 13.5, not 3.5 like the pros do. so their crashes are more spectacular.
