Thanks man, I'll give it a shot. We're running 10.5's on parking lots that are swept and sugared, but still pretty slippery. It's also still kinda cold. I plan on running next time, I didn't have one to try today.

I don't know if the car or the tires or the track were the problem, but something wasn't right. I didn't really start with any specific setup (close to the kit for carpet) so I'm not looking to improve what I've got now, just start somewhere that's in the ballpark so I can work my way up. I've only got the stock suspension parts at the moment.

I did today... it seemed to feel better than a front diff. It sucked all around, though, I was losing time everywhere. It seemed like a spool was really needed... among other things.

That might be your main problem. Get a spool when you can. With a oneway in a parking lot, you need to be as smooth as you can. Don't try my setup with a oneway... But you can try the diff if you want.

Yeah, makes sense, the car was nearly impossible to drive when I finally got softer tires on it. It turned in great, but was so loose and unpredictable, it was giving me fits.

So, if I'm wanting to order a spool, I'll need:

What about spares? In looking at this picture, is it the black pieces that normally break, or those and the aluminum sleeves? What are the names and part numbers of those pieces?

I've never busted an aluminum sleeve. The delrin ones on the 415 were very hard to bust. Would have to be a bad wreck that rips the arm off to really tear up a delrin outdrive. The aluminum sleeve does an excellent job of strengthening them up. Not sure if the old white ones will work with the new spool. But would be a good idea to pick up a few sets when they become available. But yeah, those are the correct parts.

Okay, now I am at home I can check the individual weight of things.

Body - 104 grams
Wheels and tyres - 115 grams
IB4600 6 cell battery - 456 grams
TRF416 without wheels and battery - 910 grams

Total race ready - 1590

That is without a transponder and with an uncharged battery.

As I said, the car is stock standard except for LWT arms, steel swing shafts front and rear and a spool. The Futaba s9551 is as light as the s9550.

Jimmy's Parking lot set up was pretty strong...He change his ackerman plus some other things and was quick around the sweeper(Stronger throttle hold). He think it was too aggressive but from my veiw the was very smooth and the transition was nice. Although I was running the Ray08, which is quicker on 180's and chicanes the Changes Jimmy made took way the Ray08 advantage. It came down to power, which once again Jimmy had the upper hand....his car accelerate like a bottle rocket. I was too lazy the change a pinion gear, plus one downside I saw about Jimmy having a Lower FDR.......His battery dump quicker than mines??? which was weird....His 4.4FDR LRP vs my 4.7FDR SP GT. His battery drain 30% faster than mines.

LRP seem to be the stronger ESC as well, We both ran SP 13.5 demons.

Good job on your wrench work Jimmy. This guy knows the TRF416.

Well, I've got my site back up and working happily, and it also has it own new addition... it's own micro forum

Ok, so more than anything it's an excuse for me to have a play around with forum software (add that to the CV ), and in no way am I expecting much out of it, but if anyone fancies heading over and having a look, and letting me know your thoughts, well, would be greatly appreciated. I'm certainly not intending for it to take away any of the great info and help on here, thats for sure.

I tried the DHI cup Jilles setup on asphalt this past weekend and my car was really good. I was very impressed at how easy and smooth it was to drive but still had good steering. I used a spool but the car felt like it had a one-way. Very impressive. I can't wait until the next race
