Default Compatibility Brushless ESC and Brushless Motor

Hi Guys,

Im an old school racer being resurrected in to the new world of RC Racing again.

Can anyone tell me if i would have any issues with using a Brushless Novak Velocity 4.5R with a LRP Sphere Brushless and Brushed Digital ESC?

Can the LRP Sphere Brushless and Brushed Digital ESC handle the Novak 4.5R?
Do i need to plug in the Sensor wire to the ESC?
There is alot of talk about "thermalled"? can someone help me with what that means?

Also is there a how to maintain and care for your "brushless setup" guide anywhere?

Many thanks in Advance!

ChilliWilli

Brushless esc's only will work with brushless and brushed, brushed esc's are brushed only

And I recomend you get the sphere TC, its a better esc, and with the fan and all, it never gets hot

Thermal is when the motor or esc gets to hot, and the esc will shut it down so you dont melt/fry something

Brushless doesnt need maintenance, a bearing lube every once and a while is good though

I don't think that model of Sphere can run the 4.5. From memory, it is only good down to 5.5, the Sphere Competition is good to 4.5 and the Sphere TC is good to 3.5.

Hi Grease Monkey,

What would happen if i tried to use the LRP Sphere (that is rated to Brushless motors above 5.5 turns) to control a Novak Velocity 4.5R?

Would this cause any damage?

Maybe we have to make a list with square and marked the compatibility of each motor and ESC with circle and cross to make agreement of everyone, but there is a lot of work, just kidding.

No, i mean with cross or circle on board is like this kind of gameCompatibility Brushless ESC and Brushless Motor-galo.jpg
And this is exclusively for LRP Sphere not for others ESC, and didn't refer which brand of motor suitable for it. So, maybe we have to make it with Excel by ourselves. Anyway thanks.

friend ran a Novak 3.5R with his LRP TC Spec ESC during a local race (coz the armature off his LRP 4.5 snaped). worked without problems.

FWIK, the LRP TC works with any sensored brushless motor (LRP/Nosram, Novak, Orion/Peak/SpeedPassion, GM)
