Wink will this interfere???

Hi im just muckin around with my bodyshell and thought of using 1 of my mums bits for my shell. Its a brass ring protecting the area where the arial goes thru the bodyshell.

Heres a pic, would the ring interfere with radio.

Thanks

Best thing is to TRY.

With the bass ring around the antenna you have altered the impedance of the antenna.

I dunno, it's possible you won't notice ANY difference in radio reception, since the antenna wire is already insulated by both its own insulation & the antenna mast's plastic(but as komkit alluded to, there is still the possibility of interference, only way to know for sure is to give it a tty)....

Maybe, maybe not. But it's only about look and personally I think it'll have a more discrete look, by not using it.

Is there really a need for that though? I have never had a problem with the antenna hole tearing or anything like that. It looks cool and origional, but why risk glitching?

What's the purpose of putting the ring there? Just for looks?

if it glitches and you need an alternative collar to protect the antenna, try silicone fuel tubing
