Obviously…..what are you talking about when you said it has more timing? And don’t say its faster…LOL. What is the LRP doing that the Novak isn’t doing and how did you find out it has more timing? Or is this something you heard from someone else who heard it from someone else who use to change tires for some guy who looked in a window of a guy who knew something?

Several of us are using right around 1.6" which is 41mm, I tried more and only made heat and didn't go any faster. This is on a pretty flowing carpet track with only about two or three tight turns.

I was told this too by 2 top motor tuners. Guys whos opinions you would respect. The oval guys figured this out a year ago. I have no idea why it is but the LRP speedo makes motors go faster than the Novak and its significant enough that oval racers can see it in the lap times.

I've heard it a few times that the LRP is good for an additional "500 RPM."

I'm not sure how much that would matter with brushless, but it seems to be the number people are throwing around. I can't say I've noticed a difference in speed in on-road with the LRP, but it does feel smoother to me. Maybe a more consistent driver would see it.

Also, how much can you glean from measuring the RPM of a brushless motor, especially if it's unloaded? There's gotta be more to trying to figure out a motor on the bench than measuring its unloaded RPMs, right?

Default LRP 13.5 POOCH!

My LRP 13.5 with sintered rotor is still much slower than my Novak 13.5 pro. The LRP makes loads of torque and feels like it needs more gear but only makes more heat when geared up. What can be done......anybody??.......boat anchor??

How hot? If you have a sintered rotor as long as you are under 200*F you are all set.

I've geared both to a 4.5 FDR and the novak gets the nod for top end, but not by much. How are you gearing them?

I'm running on a fairly small carpet track (TC foam). My fdr's are around 4.9-5.1.
The novak comes off around 122 degrees typically. I geared the sintered LRP up to about 4.8 in my 007 and Cyclone trying to get a little top end and it actually made "262 degrees" once (holy crap). I was looking for something binding or piled up on the car but, nothing....

I'm ready to give up on LRP. Wonder how it would look on the bottom of my Aquarium?

Weird. My LRP has never been above 145 degrees and that's with the timing bumped up to 6 degrees. I run on a failry tight track as well. I've also run it on a larger, flowing track and it runs even cooler. Maybe someone suckered you and sold you a bonded rotor.
