I'm running 13.5 Orion with my Mamba Max with 4200's vs all other cars in the main have 13.5 with lipos. You will see my car has zero problems running the Orion 13.5 motor.

Thanks. With the video everyone can form there own opinion. Either way brushless is growing and will be seeing many different things roll out over the next year or two.

Does anyone know what size bearings the LRP Brushless motors use? I want to replace the bearings on my 13.5.

Wyd,
Those cars are flying! You were doing awesome. What do you think about the Novak 13.5? The on site hobby shop where i race ordered in a bunch of them, will they work with the mamba max speedo?

The novak is choice when using sensored..... But the novak will work, just chop off the wire (if you dont ever plan on selling it, or using it sensored...)

I thought you told me you were 19T, are you swapping in that TC5?

But its personal choice on the motor, theres LRP, novak, and orion, we use the orion 10.5, and I use the novak 13.5, but want to try the LRP

Thanks for the reply bor.

The manager ordered some 10.5 orion's and they all sold the same weekend before i could get my hands on one. Now i'm starting to rethink and get a 13.5 cause it suites the track better. There isn't a 19T class, there is just a 1/10 onroad class everyone with a TC races in. i'm still a pretty big newb when it comes to onroad, but i think i will start out with the 13.5, just to tame the speeds down a bit until i get more experienced. The manager said the novaks were real good, but i think i'd rather get an orion, so i'll have to call him up and order one.

I only tested with the Orion motor but from what I understand the Orions work the best with the Mamba system. The Novak stutter alot down low. Once the new program update comes out from Castle then it won't be a problem to run the Novak motors. Castle is working hard on that program. It is incrediable difficult thing to accomplish.

Yeah, well go stock, I wont say do/dont get this

Get what you want, the orion works for some, others hate it, I love it

Like WYD said, the orion is meant to run both ways, so it should in theory run better...

Some people have good luck with the novak on sensorless speedos, others dont

What experiences have you all had with various Novak Speed Controls and a Novak 13.5? Do you notice much difference between performance on the higher end Speedcontrols?
Thanks

I race on an extremely tight and sticky off-road track with a LRP TC esc and novak 13.5 motor. I have it set to the lowest punch setting simply because it smooths out the power band and really makes the trigger feel like butter, it's so smooth! And it's got enough low end grunt that so far, I'm not seeing a need for any more throttle punch boost. now, real TC applications?...maybe up it a hair, but I still think that the low setting is all you need.

Anyone know where i can buy a LRP X11 13.5 motor and a sintered rotor. Ive looked but most places are out of stock.

Also wondering, is it possible just to buy a sintered 13.5 rotor and put it in a x11 6.5 can?

Changing the rotor in a brushless motor does not change the wind of the motor!

The winds are in the "can"... the rotor is simply the shaft and magnet!

till i bought my GTBSS/13.5 SS PRO i ran gts speed controls , considered a sport version , tuned co27s , i run ok , definetly not a fast guy , when i finally bought a top of the line speed control i could believe the difference , it hits so hard with the bl motor i couldnt keep the front wheels on the ground , just program to your ability and driving style , and its about the best system you could ever want , plus as i get better i can still program it back up so to speak , ray
