Good onya Charlie!

You gotta admire a company that is prepared to come onto a public forum to help a customer out.

Love my GTB/4.5 BTW

I will definitely get with Charlie! The folks at Novak have been really cool to me, so I'm not frustrated with them or the company, its just me whinging on about my particular situation. I'm really beginning to suspect that either my radio or batteries just aren't up to the task with this motor/esc combo though.

What is the transcap? Is it the big capacitor at the back of the esc? All the connections are brand spankin' new from the factory, and I only have about 30 minutes run time on this system, so I don't suspect damage or defect with the unit.

Adjust your settings for a soft launch, I think its profile two. The input voltage isnt as drastic, so the voltage dip is minimized. You launch softer and get into the powerband a bit smoother. Aside of that, the Novak Glitch buster is your best bet. Or, it could be a break in the wire from your rx thats touching the chassis.

Talked w/ Charlie on the phone today and he really thinks the problem is with the stick pack batteries, so I'm gonna ask some local guys on race day to lend me a good side by side pack and see if that cures the problem. Seems like the motor and esc are just more than my cheezey stick packs can handle. Sounds about right, so that's a pretty easy fix. Next thing is probably a better radio too. Nice to get that kind of help though! Cheers.

Shame on me (us??)....I saw 3300's but didnt think to ask if it was a stick or saddle w/battery bars. The amp draw can be a bit much for the pack and the heat generated might have melted the tin welded between cells. Diagnosed everything except for what might be the obvious.
