Default R/C Racing Carpet

R/C racing Carpet.

Our club is looking to purchase new carpet and I was just wondering what other clubs are using and where they bought their carpet from. We currently run on Dayton Ozite but it desperately needs replacing. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You're right. I believe this is the carpet used at the Snowbirds this year. Maybe it wasn't the Snowbirds but it was a major indoor event. If anyone has the name of this carpet it would sure be helpful. I'll try e-mailing Dupont and let you know if I find out anything.

The DuPont carpet is in use at Trackside Hobbies (www.trackside.com) to great success. You might try asking Scotty for more information about it.

Go to CRC website. They are a dealer for Ozite and great people. I'll post a link.

I race at trackside. The carpet is dupont and it works awesome. Always plenty of traction.

Thanks for all the ideas folks. Does anyone know the name of the DuPont carpet or where it can be purchased. Ideally I would like to find a distributor in Canada rather than shipping four rolls of carpet up north so the name of the stuff would really help.

Hi guys,

I tried e-mailing DuPont but I get no response. Some people have told me that DuPont makes the fiber for the carpet but doesn't actually manufacture the stuff them selves. My question to all of you in the know is...Who is the manufacturer of the DuPont fibered carpet or at least what is the name of the stuff??

One fellow posted the name, "Fanfare," is this the DuPont carpet?

Thanks,

John

I don't think fanfare is made by Dupont. When I was researching carpet back in February, I thought that I had read that Ozite was manufactured by Dupont. But I may be mistaken. I think there may be more than one company that manufactures Fanfare. The information that I got from the Snowbirds people was to contact Carpet Alley in Dalton, GA. I don't think they have the same carpet that we got. The people that raced on our Fanfare carpet last week said that they liked it better than what was at the 'Birds.

I was mistaken, Ozite is made by:

Ozite, A Foss Manufacturing Company
380 Lafayette Road
Hampton, NH USA 03843-5000

Pretty much distributed exclusively by CRC.

I'm not sure what the stuff is called, but I'll be seeing Scotty in a few days(he & Paul Lemieux are coming down to Tulsa to run in our first Invitational Race this weekend) & I'll ry to ask him exactly what it is & what to look for. And by the way, that stuff DOES work very well, at Scotty's Novak race I was occaisionally traction rolling when using the handout TakeOff premounted CS-27 tires, had all the grip I could handle....
