Get as much practice as possible before you square off. Knowing the track is always important. Maybe get a buddy to square off with you during practice, because, while it is helpful to get a feel for the track, when people are on the track it obviously has a different feel. A buddy pushing you, or blocking you will be helpful preperation.

its indoors in a school.the track will be laid when we get there.
the problem is when you are relapping people they knock you off and it makes or brakes your race.what makes it worse is that everyone uses stock so it takes a life time to recatch them and pass them

Learn self control grasshopper, instead of triing to pass as soon as you get there set back a little and wait for them to screw up, normally they can't recover in tme to foil your attempt either properly, or otherwise (you know what I mean.....hacks...LOL)

Default Avoid

Soda and sugar during the race, it'll make you twitchy.

Just gulp on Gatorade or other sports drink. Sugar has a tendency to jitter you up.

And like what the guys said, follow them!! and check your car very thorougly, every heat, the week before, the night before.

goodluck n keep us posted

Default The BIG race

trf racer;

Are you better Leader or Follower? Remember your Strengths and use this to your advantage.

As for the back markers, you need to use some reasonable restraint when deciding to pass. Better to lose a few 10th hanging back and waiting for an opening than 10 seconds from getting Hacked into the boards.

Another thing. If this is the BIG one, the back markers should have the courtesy to move aside, if not then you may have to MOVE them aside yourself. (understand ) A Guy 1+ laps down should not be holding back the top 3 leaders in my opinion and may need some "Nudging" to get with the program.

Good luck, Keep cool.

thanks guys for all the help.when i got there it was going good[the car].in the heats i got 3rd,3rd and 2nd.out qualified the kid iam racing for the championship but the 1st corner carnage meant he got ahead of me.lots of bad racing from back markers as per morm.any way i came 3rd and he came 2nd so we are equlle in the championship. he only beet me cuase i got nocked out at the 1st corner and was dead last and worked my way up the grid.i learned that its actually better to start about 5th than on pole because you can work your way through the 1st corner pile up.
