The Hakko 936, does it take 110-230VAC? I'm thinking about getting one when i'm over for IIC, but will it work here at home with 230V?

Yes I have had my Hakko 936 station for like 2 years. It is well worth the $$ cost. I would recommend that.

So you guys dont think a soldering iron with the unit is very good?

That hakko all in one looks nice!

What would be the wattage on it?

That "all in one" unit is not a Hakko...it's a Goot (made in Japan). I switched from Hakko to Goot and saved 3lbs of weight/pit space and no performance difference.
You can find Goots at www.bomir.com

Here you go for the Hakko:

I think you need the high capacity 908 tip for the large tip.

Everyone at my track uses Hakkos too, I used one for 3+ years. I just wanted to cary less weight. EJ Evans and I shared my Goot at the Nat's in Seattle and had no issues, same thing for the upcoming IIC.
I used to live in Japan and everyone uses Goot irons

ps what iron is the one RCID do a skin for?
The Hakko 936 is a good choice, but if you want to do good work on cirquit boards you wll want a small tip, like 2mm. You can get two irons for the station and switch them but the best way to go is the Hakko 928 dual soldering station. Then you can have a large handle and tip that will work for everything but batteries, and the teenie tip for cirquit board work. You can solder batteries with the 928 but its better done with a 456. 455 works great too but the 456 shows no mercy
