Hi Martin,
Can you give me some advice on gearing please ?

I've copied mode 6 into 3 for running a 10.5 motor on a small carpet track (60ft straight)

I'm currently at 7.1 FDR but the motor came off very hot this evening so I think my gearing is wrong.

Default Testing modes ;)

Hi!

At last Sunday I try race and set advanced options for GM

1st and 2nd run was on lipo 2s/reedy 5000/20C + 10.5T GM evo3,
tc5, 1510g limit, FDR 7.00 but engine 2x got about 91C I can't made FDR for
7.5 for 2nd time because I don't have time at track for change spur gear.

I copy mode 8 to 3, (firmware 4.9), set amp limit 120A, and all things like in mod6 used before, car was very very fast, when my friends drive on 1400g limit, 5cell and 9.5T this is option for driving :-) without waste money for nimh ;-)

For next 2xQ and 3xF I switch to 9.5T sport purple (12.5mm rotor) and 5 cell old nimh but still alive set mode6, copy to 3, set all data like in mod6, and
my chassis was again very fast (but not like on lipo ), FDR 6.5,
weight 1460g, engine go for 85C (but who care )) got 3rd place for final runs
and save it

Yes, on track with good setup for ESC GM is faster then others, my friend has used new CS esc (it is like GM 120 with logo CS) but he can't setup it corect and after long fight I finish 3rd )

Last big race at Klodzko, I try drive on normal mode 6 with FDR about
5.3-5.5-5.8 but there was no speed, car was slow like s...t,
I try good accu from my friend and still was ... slower then
others on LRP SXX_whatever_blue

I can only say: GM IS THE WAY FOR GO!

)

Regards!

Hi Martin,

I have a Gm Genius 120, with a 6T delta, 150 start amp, 200 amp limit, 7.3 ratio without sensor.

What can I change if i put the sensor cable ?

And, also, if I want to put a 3.5 SP, What can I change on the speedo for this motor ? Same ratio than the 6T delta ? And sensor or not ?

We have more runtime with a 12mm rotor than a 12.5mm ?

And my last question, What are the advantage of the sensor cable ?

It's on a big track...

Regards,
And thX for your answers !!

just stick to sensorless running

it's the easiest and most secure way

if you change the motor you don't have to change the esc ...

just try to find a gearing

I don't know about the sp3.5
never used one of those ... or I have once ... but did not really like it

too soft

Hi Martin, if runing with modified no need sensor right?

i am having some problems with the speed control, sometime i lose brake afther 4 minuts run, cold it be overheat, motor 80 degrees and speed control 60 degrees, or should i add more caps to the speedcontrol?

Some time i acelerate and the response comes with a delay, and afther a second the car just jumps foward

My friend told be that the speed control afther a run, we can get the values of max amps, rpm and some other values, is that possible.

that's stage 1 of the tempcut -> turn it off

Some time i acelerate and the response comes with a delay, and afther a second the car just jumps foward
at the start?

push the button very shortly straight after driving, then turn off the esc and read it out via pc, then you will see max current and max rpm[
see above[

Hi Martin
I had this to, not to sure why though, it even felt like it wanted to go backwards

This was the first time I used the GM120.
I was using the Nosram SPEC prior, and was geared at 4.5 using the GM 13.5 but wasn't sure where I should be with the gearing on the GM120, so started at 6.00 but was dog slow after 2.5 mins, so went to 5.3 with a 13.5 Prince motor but came off at 90 degrees, any help with gearing would be appreciated Martin.

Cheers Malc TCCFM

Stage 1 of temperature cut, so it is motor temperature to high or speedcontrol? Should i gear up the motor or change set up in speed control (amp limit, frequency......).

About the delay soimetimes afther 1 minut race.

Thanks for your help.

Has anyone tried all three GM 10.5 motors? Evo3, Pro and Dr Speed? I wonder which would be the best for stock racing on lipo and mode 8--->3. It seems that Pro is strongest, but with lowest kV, dr speed and evo3 differ as far as I know in magnet material and evo3 has fan on rotor. Anyone can say something more about them?
