GM Brushless

Hi Wolfpacker
One thing You can do, is to check the small pins in the speedo for the sensor cable. Sometimes one of these can be bend (or broken off), and then You have a big problem.
If its not that, I cant help You further.
Good luck

I'm having some crazy problems with a GM 120 Pro esc I recently picked up.
I'm using a Graupner X-8N radio, and a Fantom brushless motor.
It seems like the ESC thinks it's connected to a sensorless motor or something....it just stutters my motor back and forth. The car just stutters, doesnt go forward or backwards.
Any idea what's going on? Also, when I connect it to the programming box, it's saying "Connection Fail", and doesnt seem to be saving the changes I'm making.

Thanks for the suggestion. All pins are fine. I have tested with 2 different sensor cables, 2 different motors, and 2 different radio systems. Same issue, so the problem has to be with the ESC.

I figured out my problem. The ESC setting for the motor wiring was C-B-A, whereas I physically wired the motor A-B-C.
I would have known this had I been able to get the programming box to connect, but it wouldnt. Luckily I have a Graupner x-8n radio and after a few hours of figuring out all the settings, I was able to program the ESC settings using the radio.
All set now.

I'm still having problems getting it to go in "blinky" mode.
I have changed all turbo and boost settings to "0". But the ESC still only blinks the green LED rapidly.
According to the ROAR website, the "Yellow, Red, and Green blink fast and at the same time in neutral position when the zero mode is active".
Can someone post their settings they use for "blinky" mode?

It only blinks with certain versions of firmware.

Well crap. Do you know which? I really want to run this ESC, and have the Graupner USB cables, etc. Just can't find where to download the latest firmware? Supposedly the firmware updater software tells you if there's one available, but I cant seem to get it to work. WTF?
And I work in web development as a career....why the heck is this so ridiculously non-intuitive?

I'have a feeling that I'm talking about a different ESC to you - and I suspect SBH might have been also.
If you're talking about the 120 "pro" that's only been available for around 3 years then actually I don't know anything about it, sorry about that - and I'd check that what you're seen on the ROAR list is for the 120 Pro and not just the older Genius 120. I was thinking of the old Genius 120, which had the blinky behaviour you describe.

Search for Martin Hofer, he will be able to help You.
As MattW wrote, this is the newer speedo and not the old one as we know of. I looked in the manual, and it said the speedo could be in Zero timing mode, but no explanation how to do it.
Good luck

Hello
Blink mode is activated automatacli when you select zero timing on sensor motor, but this hapen on firmware 13.1.
I start racing on my national competition and i almost was disqualified because of that, but one guy on track gave me the firmware 13.1.
Note: it is only possible to make a firmware update to 13 on GM-Genius Nr. 971x, and after that use the the pc program V 1.6.5.

Yes, nothing available... I found à version 1.0.5, so it works but access to hidden variable is very limited. I found thé 1.6.5 generation2 too, but it does not work.
still looking for v1.3.6 or à newer one than 1.0.5
