Aren't you supposed to run an opto couple if using a Rx pack?

Great thread.

I'm running a hot bodies cyclone with a gm 90 and an orion 13.5 in mode 6 with the settings as per page 34 of this thread.

All I'd like to know is on a large indoor track with a main straight of about 30-35 meters whats a good drive ratio to aim for.

at the moment I'm running 24 pinion 78 spur and an internal ratio of 2.437 which gives me an fdr of 7.9, is this ok or way off the mark ?

In pdf is 6 cell pack which has more V then 1s lipo

Ralf Helbing said just connect small accu to RX and don't cut red + wire

well I run that gearing indoors with a 3.5 / 5cell ! so you are quite a bit off the mark

I'd say around 6.0ish should be your starting point

it all depends on motor temperature

as long as it is below 85C you are undergeared ...

as for 1s Lipo:

just use a RX battery pack and don't cut the plus wire of the ESC bec

set the undervoltage cut-off to 2.5V and don't use a novak booster

I have a question if anyone can help

I am currently using mode 6 copied over 3 running a 13.5T on a small technical track. I'm running firmware 4.9

When I change the switch point on the timing from a non standard value I have noticed the reserved 1 values change on there own. Items 16, 32 & 64 get ticked but none of them have a description by them

Any idea what these do?

Do I need to change them back or should i leave them?

this is why I keep telling people not to mess around with that stuff

if you'd have ever had a closer look you will find res1 to be 254 when sending data but then 142 when receiving data again as the value 254 does not exist on the speedo ...

but there's no real reason why to mess around with special settings for standard applications ...

Martin all I have done is change the switch point as you suggested earlier in this thread.

Well I guess I have to explain that a little more detailed then.

The software usually only sends 28 values to the speedo but receives 38.

The 10 unsent values are the special settings. By setting res1 to 254 you SEND 38 values aswell which is necessary to change the background values.

After reading out the speedo res1 reverts to 142 As that's the highest possible value the speedo can save

then just change res1 back to whatever value it was and send again (28 values this time then)

Martin,
When running a 90 with an Rx pack what setting should I set the the on/off function?
The 90 does not have a switch but the RX pack will have one in line.

I need help.
A club member has a GM 120.
He has no power at all. we tried to reset it and use mode 6 and it still drives very slow. slower than a Tamiya sport tunned and he is using a speedpassion 10,5T on 5 cell.
The motor is ok and the batteries also.
What can be the problem?
I have seen it by more drivers and some of them got a new speedo and some of them hath software problems.
What can he do?

speedo should be switched on

as for the power lack problem

I guess you didn't do the tx setup properly or the sensor wire is broken or there is some progam mistake
