Default Sensored?

I've got a Genius 90 as a replacement for my blown 95 (Thanks GM ) however I see that the manual talks about running sensored for 10.5. Does it make a big difference if I do this mode6/mode 3 thing and then run sensorless? Or does it *need* to be sensored for max performance?

I also have a GM 10.5 on order, how does the gearing compare with a Novak 10.5? About the same?

TIA

Ian

most drivers find the GM motors to have most power of all (100% of the german nats stock a-main was gm 9.5T)

regarding sensored

yes
for max performance you need to run sensored (already wrote that in the stock how-to)
I suggest that you just might read through the how-to posted some pages pack

should answer most questions

Yesterday, talking with a friend he told me that this new generation escs(90 and 120) cant be programmed(brakes, start amp,....) by setup button, only mode changing was available via setup button.
Is it true or its done diferent from previous versions (95,80,100).
Not an issue for most users since via notebook its easier, but oldschool guys would prefer bip and led counting

BTW Im very happy with GM120 and new prostock motors great power and cooler.Sensor wire is a must.
Well done GM.
1st leg of PT Nats next weekend GM combo ready to face competition

pc programming only .... the esc is meant to be programmed at home
then you just switch modes on track ...

Default GM 6.5t where to get one?

Hi Martin, talking with a friend recently and he mentioned they have been testing 6.5 lipo over here against 5 cell 6T delta and only found the GM 6.5t comparable on performance, where can I get one from as nobody seems to even list them over here and which 6.5t should I choose silver or the newer black version?
Also I run an LRP TC Spec speedo would this give the same kind of performance with these motors or would I also need the Genius 120 esc to get the same performance as they have seen (obviously with their settings)?

WE stock GM products at Action Model Centre in the UK. What do you need?

I unfortunately don't know all the shops selling gm in the uk sry.

Use the grey 6.5.

Genius got special stock modes which make the 6.5 perform like a very fast 5cell setup

Hi Martin,

Which GM 9.5T motor would you recommend, I have seen many from GM.
It would be great if you could provide the ref number, thanks.

the "newe" 9.5T motors are the blue Graupner one, the purple GM one (both developed for german stock class) and the grey gm 9.5 (efra legal)

1. Purple 2. Grey 3. Blue would be my personal order (even though I like the blue color more ;-P)

but it's pretty much down to each own personal likings which motor feels best

purple is very precise, blue is very smooth, grey is inbetween

power wise they are not too far off each other

Martin,
What is the difference between running in mode 8 as standard and running in mode 8 copied to mode 3 as in the stock how to notes?

Thanks

the program itself is different

you can also try to copy mode 6 to mode 3 which will give a little more punch

Hi Martin

I read in another forum that D wind motors do not benefit from timing advance. What does it means? With a lower timing they performs better?

we actually never use a lot of timing
no matter if it's a delta wound motor or a star wound

we never use sensorwires and thus we do use a overall timing of 30

btw. gm motor do feature a hardwaretiming of 30
