Martin and Mark thanks for your advice. I'll take a stop watch to open practice on saturday and try gearing it about 9 like I would normaly and try it again at about 7.

You can't have 3t wye it must be delta. Wye is always .5, delta whole numbers.

If you put the grounding ring at the top you could but I don't think there are any legal motors built like that. I think lehner did something like that.

JevUK,

Go on the BRCA electric board and in the homoligation list you will see it for yourself.

Quick question for martin again. I've been looking at the 6t delta that arrived and I can't change the timing on it. Is it meant to be fixed? Doesn't really matter cause i'll be running it sensorless. But just nice to know.

A 3T delta would be very quick though.

A 3T y-wind peak racing motor is BRCA legal and they exist cause i own one.

Sensored system. “Y” Wind Black Alum. End-Bell with TOP name. 5.0mm shaft reduced to 1/8 for bearings both ends. Black sintered magnet with or without fan. 7.5T, 6.5T, 5.5T, 4.5T. 4.0T, 3.5T & 3.0T. Rotors:- 12.0, 12.5, 13.0, 13.5.

Not sure about the 4T GM motor but i think it is also a y-wind.

the 4T is Y wound but not sold anymore

the timing on the pro brushless 6T cannot be changed ... that's correct.

it is set to what fits best to the gm esc but as we never use sensors it does not matter anyway :-)

I run on a really big outdoor track (18s lap) and Im a little short on runtime. Using a 7T Delta geared at 6.3. Mode 1 on Genius 95.

7T + 6.3 gearing is totally undergeared ... gearing longer will increase runtime in that case as you do not need to use that much throttle to do the same speed

I'd run a 6T with 6.0 - 6.3 on a 18sec/lap course!

just try to really lower the fdr and you will from some point on notice that you gain runtime
