I tried to connect it to my Futaba 3VCS radio gear (running 40MHz) and am having a problem.

The radio gear works on other brands of speed controllers (team wave and losi), the Genius works perfectly on other radios.

With the Futaba I can do the setup mode select sequence puching the stick back and forth etc, the red and yellow lights and the motor noise all work as they should in the manual and the speedo confirms I have picked mode 4 for example by flasing and beeping 4 times after.

However when the controller is out of set up mode or turned off and on the motor pulses on and off twice a second at neutral spinning the wheels, if I throttle up the pulsing it there all the way through the power and I have to hold brakes to stop the car moving.

The lights are also flasing in time with the power pulsing.

I have conected the Genius to the computer and the pulse widths are all looking good with full throttle at 1.9ms and full brake at around 1.2ms. (throttle channel reversed as the manual states)

I reconnect and re setup to the KO radio gear and it all works perfectly again.

Any ideas or has anyone seen this before with Futaba radios???

i don't know if i'm right it's looks like sub trim on radio

reset the configuration and try again

The subtrim did nothing, still the motor pulsing problem. While the motor is pulsing the yellow light is on solid and the red light flashes on and off in time with the motor pulsing on and off.

Hi yes speedo reset, no change.

It is not cogging it is pulsing with no stick input at all, if you put the car on the track it would drive off on its own.

I am running the KO radio gear for now until the problem can be solved as I am racing tomorrow.

Does anyone got experience with the GM Race BL Motor 13.5T (fdr and timing) for blinky TC class?
The best way is gear low and load on the timing, or go the other way?
My track is 40 meters straight.

Thanks

I would gear around 4,0 FDR and set the timing to max. Off course it also depends on the layout of the track. Use the temp protection in the speedo and look at the telemetry after Your race. If the temp is to high, try to time down a little bit.

Thanks SBH!

How many degrees is each graduation?
The first sign is the zero timing?

try 'softbrake' with a higher value, also, do you have 'new brake software' activated ? If so, try a lower value on the 'effect new brake software' setting

Hi again
There are 5 holes, the motor comes standard in the middle hole, consider that 30 degrees. 1 hole up (if You look from behind on the holes in the right side) will add app. 15 degrees more. The top hole will add 15 more = app. 60 degrees motortiming.

If You use the 2 lower holes, You will time down. Dont do that

No, you're referring to older models.
The Race has a graduated scale for the adjustment of the timing.
The support of the sensors can be rotated by loosening two screws.

demonpowerproducts.co.uk/images/GM-timing.JPG

On this site they say that each bar corresponds to 5 , but can not tell which is the maximum timing

Max timing is when u turn the sensor all way to the left, which white knockles and all.

Should look like this.

Markings I
Markings IIIIIII

U can mode it to look like this though

I
---IIIIIII
