Ok I will give the variable dependant timing a try. Wat timing insert do you run in your x12? Martin have you got any ideas?

Thanks

With x12 motor you should always run minimum timing - insert no4, taking timing away. Even like this, it still has more static timing than GM motor. The X12 motor naturally runs hotter than the GM motor, and seems to be able to stand more temperature as well.

The X12 motors run much hotter than other motors as there is a lot of timing prebuilt from factory. I was told by LRP team driver using the insert which reduces the mechanical timing the most. From what I remember this was insert 0000.

The x12 has loads of timing already built in so i use the four dot insert with the dots facing out. This should give you -10 degrees of timing which is actually still 30+ degrees and then some.

Like i said in the other post you basically want as little timing as possible round the slow bits keeping it cool ready for as much as you can down the straights. I think your gearing is about right, any thing from about 6.5 to 5.8 i've found is about right. Older speedos like the SPX s. spec i used to run it down to 7.5 but that was only to get timing to come in quicker. GM's work differently to that so no need to gear so low, so just be aware of tekin users, and sxx users telling you to gear lower with it. It will just cook.

Have tried a 3,5 turn GM , a 7 turn delta ,and last a Nosram 4 turn , with a rool out of 29,8mm. We have tried to race with no fixed and up to 12 , with absolut no result , he can only run about 4-8 laps of 100m , until it shuts down.

Both are running without heatsink and fan

Any ideas , maybe regarding fixed timing and/or roll out

thanks in advance

I run a 7t delta on the 75 speedo, but no dynamic timing. I mistakenly ran it with my stock settings in a practise round and it shut down at 6 minutes. My Rollout for 7t is around 35mm if that helps.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm using the 4dot insert so that's right I'll give the motor a good clean then just alter gearing to see how I fair
Will also look at the variable dependant timing to see what i can do with that

Cheers guys

97 degree INSIDE is around 50-60 outside! which is far from too hot!. The X12 can handle up to 130C INSIDE with ease!!

what temperature have you set the cut off to?

Motor cut off is set to 110 I was sticking on the cautious side. However I did notice the motor was fading toward the end of the race.

yes seems about right.

usually we are able to run the same gearing lrp drivers to if you want to use that as a comparison. we are just able to run more power speedowise

For Martin:

How add timing in mode sensorless???, in the 1.6.3 (esc firmware V13)
Old parameter --> timing (without sensors)

there is no timing sensorless, never was never will be. the speedo has a fixed programmed standard of 30 which is not variable and gets automatically selected as soon as the sensorewire gets removed
