I've never used firmware that old so can't say if its that but using Ko propo transmitter on 40mHz, Ultra response, standard response and recently 2.4 i've never had a problem with interference. Thats a Gm 90 on v13 firmware, so shouldn't be any different to the 75. I can swamp the car when using transmitter within a couple of metres of it and strangely that happens only when the motor is running, but that's it.

I don't know if it was the same on 7.2 firmware but the latest you can adjust the speedos internal frequency if you are getting interference. It can also be used to adjust power delivery and efficiency.

Steve, there should be no issues running GM with KO crystal radios. Chris Granger has always run 27MHz with generally no issues, and so have I. I switched to Sanwa 2.4 mid way through last year, but that was for other reasons, and Chris has recently started running KO 2.4 - again, not to cure an issue. Chris Ashton uses KO 27/40 and is running a 75 currently indoors with 10.5.

My point being, there shouldn't be any issues.

Default GM75

Martin, can you help.

I have a 3 month old GM75, thats done two 1/12th scale meeting
with no problems at all.

This weekend I connected it up to 10.5T GM in mode 16.
The problem is the throttle response was intermittant, with boost
suddenly coming in on the striaght.
I had to run motor sensor less because of the problem.
I tried two senor cables and 3 different motor, still faulty.

Do you know what problem may be, or should I send it back
to Germany for investigation in to repair.

did you activate "HST with switchpoint"?

try redoing your transmitter setting (-> pick mode again)

Hello,

just disassembled mine 10.5 GM motor to check the rotor diameter and forgot the sequence the rotor shim washers used to be. Thin shims in either side and thick shim in side opposite to sensors, right? The thin shim should be closer to rotor or bearing?

Can somebody also explain the process of centering the rotor?

Thank you in advance.

the long shim ofcourse on the side of the colored faceplate, the rest of the shims to the sensors. The motor should have no play at all!

I always use a small ring (0.7mm thick) and a washer, put the rotor into the case. if the screws are not tightened, the rotor has got just a tiny bit of play. then i tighten the screws slowly untill the play is gone. this way you get a totally silent motor running as efficient as it can

Hi all,

I am new to GM and have lots of questions:

I am going to run a speed passion 5,5T v2 with a GM90 ver 2010 on a DTM. It is indoor on carpet on a 16x30m track.

Could someone tell me what ratio should i start with?

I read the tutorial on the v13 file.

If i understand correctly i should copy the file Martin linked into the speedo, then calibrate the radio.
Then select the mode through the radio not through the software (why is that?).
How do i choose wich mode to run (i run mod 5.5T and stock 10.5T)?

Can this speedo be used as it is for running 1s in 1/12th scale? i have read there is a mod to be done on GM speedo's but i don't know which esc are concerned by the mod.

thanks in advance for the help.

as you pick the mode with the transmitter, the speedo saves the transmittervalues on the fly. so calibrating the radio and picking a mode is the same!

You put my file on, change it towards your settings, and then pick the mode ( i think it was mode 2 or 3) the file says with your radio to get your transmitter data on. you can also copy the file to any other mode by changing the mode and sending it onto the speedo again. so then you could have mode 3 (example) for modified 5.5T and mode 4 for stock racing

Default graupner sport 13.5 6564 versions

hello Martin, Ive bought a 13.5 graupner sport, it seem an old version as sensor pcb plug is white instead of black and it have the stator winding with some hardware timing where another graupner motor I have is 0 hardware timing and black pcb sensor plug...also the rotor look smaller and have less magnetic strenght to turn the shaft by hand...does this motor is an older version and how it perform compared to the newer ones?
Should I run it at 0 timing software with no hst at all? is it legal

do you already test 6200 gm lipo?

thanks and regards

what, you have not tried a 6564?

I just bought a 6564 based on your recommendation. Below is a post of someone asking you which 13.5 motor is best, and you have replied 6564.

So how do you know the 6564 is the fastest without even using it?

The four motors are ;

GM6553 Brushless 13.5T 1600Gauss motor

GM 97293 13.5T star wound brushless motor. 1540 gauss, 12.0mm rotor

GM 97294 Brushless motor 13.5T star wind 2010 edition 1300Gauss

GM 97303 New 13.5T Pro Brushless Motor with 1600gauss rotor

What for example does the "guass" mean?
