Are you serious????
3.5 on 2s?

the tires explode with 4.5T already!!! I use 5.5T 99% of times and hara used 5.5 too during most of the ets race in heemsteede last year

for modified get regular gm pro motors and for stock racing (turn limitation) get the graupner ones.

out of curiosity, which mode do you use for a 5.5 to be competitive?

are we talking 'hst', timing 1 & 2, or just plain 'fixed' timing.

and is your fdr you use with the 5.5 with 'turbo' about the same as a normal esc with 3.5t?

Nobody is running a 3.5, no matter which speedo. it's just pointless material abuse.

all is written down in the V13 how-to

Default corally motors

....yes I understand the point Martin, but the 3.5 I will use with life 6.6 volt cells on normal car and lipo 7.4 for acceleration test only with a modified B4 using sponge tires and a wheelie bar...kind of drag racing car, I used the 7 delta on that car and is really fast even at 6.6 volt but the 3.5 corally should put out more power and torque. about the other motor corally have 4.5, 7.5 and 9.5 pro red series that put out more power than the graupner or gm counterpart, why not use them if is possible, there is some problem with those corally motors? I have the 17.5, 9.5 and 6.5 graupner sport and the 17.5 run near as fast as the 13.5 gm pro 97303 I have too, the 17.5 have better acceleration from low rpm and 13.5 a bit more from midrange to max rpm, I tried 30 timing with the 17.5 and It keep good with same speed of the 13.5 on 24 timing...but the question still is if the corally have more power than the graupner on those mentioned turns motor why not use them? I like to get a 13.5 graupner but the corally is good too looking at the specs, a bit more power and a bit less rpm x volt...

thanks for you reply

don'T trust values.

Gm motor for example are measured with 7.2V NIMH batteries, where Graupner motors are measured with 7.4V Lipo and Corally tossed a dice to get the numbers :-)

I would never runa Graupner / Corally motor in Modified as it just lacks driveability.

For Modified all you need is GM motors as they are super smooth to handle.

For Stock / limited winds, use the Graupner motors. Those are definately fastest.

In Germany the Graupner motor will be legal again in a few weeks and then nearly everybody will be using it.

It' a coupple of months now i use a GM "DoctorSpeed" 12T Delta motor with a Genius90 esc.
I'm very happy with this combo so i've decided to attend racing in 13.5 EFRA legal class next year. It's the best and smoothest combo i've.(compared to TekinRSpro/CastleMMpro/Novak Kinetic)
As i've seen the motor is 5400/5800kv so not to compare with similar winding Star motors,it's way more powerfull and faster than a 10.5T Tekin Redine / close to the 7.5T Novak Ballistic i've .
I would like to understand if Delta wound motors are EFRA legal and how to compare Delta to Star motors . As i've seen my Genius90 is limited to 8T Delta motors ,how do i find out the esc limit with Star motors? Considering to race in 13.5 class EFRA legal wich motor do i have to choose for if i'm looking for a Delta wound motor to race with?
Thanks.

Sorry for my poor English knowledge

Good to know these info on how them obtain power numbers...I also read that corally use 30 hardware timing on those motors...I will get the 13.5 graupner then at the end im really happy with the 17.5 (80kmh) so 13.5 wont disappoint me!
Yes I agree Martin the gm are really the smoothest motor, even the 7 delta at 6.6volt is really smooth if limit a bit of the current. But im still tempted to try the corally 3.5 for the acceleration test runs...with the modified b4.

Thanks and regards

on the efra site are the rules for the motor.
as it has other windings. it's not legal.
also watch were you race.
almost each country in the eu has his own rules for the motors.
also watch to onroad an ofroad rules for the motor.

Hi Martin,
is there a quick reference guide of anytype for the gm genius 120, or for any of the speed controllers, so that its a bit easier to understand.
Im sure a few people would appreciate it.

thanks

Default speed passion rotor in gm motor

hello, can someone know if the speed passion rotor fit the gm pro motor also? them look similar and I see range from 12 to 13 mm, a 13mm rotor can be used with the gm metal 97303 13.5T?, it have red ring 12.5 rotor as standard.

thanks and regards

Hi Martin or anyone else that might know.

Will putting in a new rotor restore a gm's performance back to new?

Reason for asking is it getting hard to keep the temp down on my motor GM 97294 with a 1600gauss rotor in it. Rotor is quite new but may have hit the temp limit at some point. Have to keep reducing the timing down the past couple of meets i've had to try and keep temps down( hitting 107 on the telemetry).

Might also be hard braking as my local track has a changing layout and has had very hard braking area the past couple of meets but i wouldn't have thought it would go up 15'C!
Gearing is 5.8 and timing about 17degress variable at the moment. Also current limited to 75amps. Any ideas?
