I have used both and the GM (1600 guss rotor) is far superior to the LRP. It runs cooler, has a much smoother power delivery and has noticeably more power overall. The LRP is a quick motor but power comes in a big lump and it has too much timing built in to take advantage of the speeds timing advancing tricks. The LRP suffers a lot with loosing its punch when hot too.

Hi I am new with this thread, How do you compare this esc GM enius 120 brushless with other esc`s like tekin, speed passion, sxx. I will be runing a stock 13.5 x12 lrp and maybe I will get also a GM pro stock 13.5 motor to race 1/10 on road ona T3. I already have an sxx but it gets faulty too much but it is quite fast. Can you please help me?

does the esc comes with the usb programming set?

Thanks
Ian

What fdr do I need for GM75 or 90 on a T3 using the GM 13.5t, I have 1300 and 1600 rotor's. Track is outdoor with 45m straight mostly open with one chicane and an indoor track with a 30m straight mostly tight and technical.

Is program 9 the one to use ? I have the software lead but just want to set it, gear it, temp it and race no messing with settings please.

Thanks.
Martin, anyone ?

gm75 is fine from 9.5T and up on 2s lipo
for 13.5 it won't need the fan according to gm.

read martin's genius2 tips for the settings you need:

Would I gain anything running the 90 ?

I don't really like the way the heatsink/fan mounts on the 75 but shouldn't need it, maybe in the summer.

the 90 is bigger and heavier than the 75
but the 90 can be used up to 5.5T motors.

4.5 -> 8 -> 5.5 -> 9 -> 6.5

get a 5.5T that's by far more than you could ever use up.

Atsushi used a 5.5T most of the ETS race in Heemsteede as he found the 4.5 to actually have too much power!
The 5.5 still did 112km/h!!!!

The wind does not really matter anymore with the new speedo as you can get any motor up to a proper speed.

Graupner 10.5 did 104, Graupner 13.5 did 96 (in my car when i tested!)

So get a motor that is easy to drive and that is the 5.5T GM motor.

Use the graupner motors only if there is a winding limitation and when it's legal

yes 100% sure, it's NTC measured temp, not case temp

for 13.5 no heatsink/fan is required. It'll handle it without any additional cooling.

run approx 4.7-5.0 outdoors and 5.5-6.0 indoors

there i no need to temp it. the speedo will take car of the motor temp as long as you set the value according to my how-to.

basically follow the how to and you are ok. 24 fixed timing shouldbe good outdoors, 26 indoors for the gm motor (use a fan!)

well straight after a run once, I pulled apart the motor and tested the rotor, stator, endbell, all were within a few degrees of one another.

it would be better if the next software upgrade would have a temperature correction factor.
the temperature is correct!, it's just the case that you cannot take the motor apart as fast as it cools down.

And there are temperature differences of MORE than 30C within a motor.
The Magnet gets up to 150-160C! and that's just one part of the motor!

The temps I posted are absolutely correct and already on the save side.
If you are doing an important race you can actually go up 5 or 10C as the motor will not reach the cutoff temperature anyway.

BTW, when the LRP Speedo cuts out (which happens quite frequently) it measures 120C on the NTC ...

30 is the middle drilling. Please do not change the motor timing but go with speedo settings

Thanks Martin, ignore the post above.

Which is the best rotor to use indoors and/or outdoors 1300 or 1600 ?

use the one with the red faceplate. if you experience big fading, go for purple

Thanks, one other thing

I've installed V13 firmware, do I need to set it to mode 9 or leave it as it is and just set your settings you posted a few pages back ?
