well thats a constructive post.

Matrix V10 motors are anything but slow, the V10 has more revs than a Monster stock motor and so needs gearing accordingly. They're very good on larger open tracks.
There is also a V10R, still a very high revving motor but not as high as the V10 and has more torque to compensate. I use this motor and it's great. I haven't experimented with different brushes, I find the stock ones pretty good. On an outdoor track thats slightly on the small side compared to others in Scotland i was able to get very good speed, I could just about keep up with 12turn motors in the infield and only got smoked in the last third of the straight.

The V10 is NOT as Powerful as a Monster and is very finicky about the brushes.
The V10R has much more Torque and can be faster than a Monster in the right hands. Easier to tune also.

The one you had must be a dog then, cuz i know someone that consistently gets in the top 3 every weekend w/ this motor.

7.5-8.0 final drive.

These are good motors. Make sure you cut the last 0.040" off the trailing edge of the brushes. These motors don't need the overlap.

Ran mine at Speedworld with Reedy 767's red spring on positive green on neg. and with a final drive ration of 7.32-7.81 in a Losi and blew people out of the water. People started questioning if the motor was roar legal. I'm very happy with mine and will put it against anything anyone has to offer......except one of my green machine's.

run the motor in testing with 767 brushes standard 190 spings Pos + spring bent so its a wee bit harder and with teflon spaces the motor was way faster then any of my moster stocks, p2k2 and MVP I was even getting wheel spin off the line it had alot more punch plus a heap of top end power geared at 6.7 on a large track cant wait for sunday to race
