I don't sleep because I work the night before. (I work the graveyard shift as a doorman) I always wondered what my driving would be if I had some sleep......... But I still get nervous and anxious. But that just tells me that I can't wait to go racing. You want to do good and play the whole run in your mind over and over, even when you haven't run the layout yet.

.............. Your just digging this hobby that's all and everyone that races at the track feels something, whether it's in your finger tips, in your legs, tearing in the eyes or chewing your lips. YOUR INTO YOUR RACING PROGRAM!! and your loving every min............... Bro I feel ya. I think about it everyday leading up to the first heat. I take care of my 18mo. old all day and work at night. Sometimes some overtime to pay for some of my racing bills, but I love every min. of it........... It's such an escape for some of us and we need it in our whipped lives.

Some might not come on here and share there stories but you be surprised how many people are thinking about there start of a race over and over in there heads................ and it's only monday!

..............Happy Racing Bro!!

Exclamation

I just become verbally abusive with the turn marshals and my fellow competitors.

That settles my nerves every time.

I get the pre-race jitters and race-time shake all the time.

When loading up to head to the track for the day, I keep going through my head thinking, did I bring everything I need? Before each heat, I keep thinking, did I forget this, that, etc...

During each race my hand or leg shakes a little, especially when I'm doing well, because I start thinking, when/where am I going to crash, don't break, etc...

As said above, I think this means I really love getting involved in racing and friendly competition. It's good for all of us to be a loser, and then strive to be a winner.

It seems that almost every weekend I cant sleep the night before a race. My brother and I are always packing / preparing things at rediculus hours of the night. But somehow it always works out. As soon as I show up to the track, im no longer tired. All I can think about is getting my car on the track to see how it does. Then I realize... you idiot! you forgot to charge your batteries... so the anticipation continues all the way up to the race. But usually I'm pretty calm during the race. However, sometimes (when racing mini's) I get a bit to relaxed and start talking to everyone on the stand. I cant imagine they like that...

I only get nervous when my thong rides too high.......

Or when a couple of racers start talking about their favorite movies... Brokeback Mt. and Deliverence....

Sleep the night before? Waste of good wrenching time if ya ask me... THats way 2 nights before take a couple of relaxing type pills and sleep 10 hours...

I get pretty nervous just before my first heat of the day. Then I find I have to head over to the thunderbox and take a quick slash. I find that if I try and race with the other driver's, I'm all over the track. If I just relax and run my own race, I do much better. Depending on how I did in the first heat determines the rest of the dayfor me. If I have a good first heat, I'm more relaxed and drive better from then on.
