Need help with identificatin of Engine

I just found in my storeyard, my very old JP Racing engine

I've used it for buggy application back in the late 90s. It has since been in my 'lost' list until my recent re-discovery.

Trouble is, my local hobby shop are equally divided about the REAL application of this engine. No doubt I did ran it on my Inferno MP5, most of them reckon its an on-road engine which I used for off-road back then.

I wasn't sure myself coz I was 16 when I had then engine and now I'm 30.....

Here are few pics of the engine I took an hope any helpful forumer here can clarify to me if this engine is indeed for onroad or off-road applications.
