No one is really bashing a certain person or product... It's like a free for all...

Interesting responses. Here are my thoughts...

Being bored is a pretty lame excuse. It's prefectly valid, but lame never the less.

I know the difference between playful banter and teasing - and a slap in the face. I don't mind the former so much - but the latter seems to be a real problem. Some people are emptying 15 round magazine clips in hopes that the receiver won't get back up. (i.e. post again)

At the track, everyone likes to have a good time. As long as it's light hearted, no problem. I haven't seen anyone get upset at the track because anyone said anything - at least not to my knowledge. There are guys that are teasing each other constantly. If that's their thing, then whatever. BTW.. No one teases me and I don't tease others. I have more important things to worry about - like my driving.

I think everyone has a different definition of "smack". I don't personally use that term, so we could be on different wave lengths, if you know what I mean.

In the absense of tone, attitude and content can fill in blanks. Some people are pretty direct. Tone is not required.

Struggling to communicate? Nah!

Hobbipro - Yup! No respect for others or themselves.

Kuzo - Things don't have to be that serious!

Community? There are communities everywhere - including prison!

Some of the replies are rather juvie - but I expected those. Please be sure to share your comments with your momma and any young children the next time you're having a family meal. As far as size goes, keep dreaming.

The moderators are not very restrictive. I don't agree with some of the things that people post, but that doesn't mean that I think it should be deleted. Once it's posted, it's posted.

There is an appropriate venue for everything. Some people think that RCTech is a venue for bashing products and people, but the majority doesn't. Everyone is entitled to an opinon - but some people are running a smear campaign or going out of their way to be spiteful or to belittle someone - which I don't think is very good for the forum.

BTW - You can't hide from the principal in boys' bathroom. He knows your IP address.

Clips go in your hair, magazines go in your gun!!!

No offense but you don't have to read no respond to the posts you don't like...

Do you think Marcos has gotten the amount of posts he has by liking everything he leaves a 1 line response to???

Juvenile, maybe... Who cares??? I know for a fact that the majority of the juvenile posts came from people who over 35 years old, I am one of them...

I guess this has outlived its usefulness and fun...

I'd BORED and heading to the chat room to go post pics in the hot or not thread...

The real problem is that you can't tell the difference...you THINK you can...maybe sometimes you can...but you really can't tell what someone's tone or intent really is.

Some people aren't very fluent using the written/typed word, some people type using a certain tone in their head and it may well be read using a different tone by the reader, who's filtering it through their own issues.

Sometimes people go too far, but not very often from my experience. Most of the people here are pretty reasonable and fun to "hang out" with. It's one of the more fun boards I've been on...maybe because the mods aren't very heavy-handed.

When they do clamp down (for reasons that are sometimes odd...LOL)...they play for keeps, but they don't get into every little thing and enforce some kind of BS/pretend courtesy. Usually, it's a pretty obvious deal that shouldn't have ever started.

Ha ha! Check the date. That's over a year ago.

There was a reason for that. I think it would take you a while to find it.

Points well taken.

As I see it, 99 out of 100 guys get it and can deal with it, but there is always that one 'Bernard Getz' out there somewhere that makes going over the line very untempting to me.

Well said. Some of you fellas that take this serious, need to move from home from under your mothers apron. Like Carlos Mencia said, its only jokes. Killing time, breaking the monotony, in between go to other threads and talking serious, poking fun to make the time tick quicker. I see some of you cats dish it out, then when someone touches your "sweetspot", you flip the script and start the personal swipes. I know I am an obnoxious prick, so what. Anyone who has seen me on ANY of the threads should already know not to take what I say seriously, totally at digital print value.....which is not a lot. Lighten up fellas. If you cant crack a joke or take the heat.......leave. its not that hard

About a year and a half ago I had to make a big post reminding everybody to be nice. Maybe it's time for another one?

Ultimately, this IS the internet (gasp!) and that means while 90% of the people will be civil, the other 10% represents a vocal minority that tends to shout as loudly as they can, and it can give the impression that they are actually a majority... when it fact the truth is far from it.

I find that, by and large, the VAST majority of people on here are civil, post useful information, and are generally good contributors. But for every 20 or 30 of those, there is a guy who just can't wait to rip on the next guy or the next product, and we have to wade through his posts as well.

You know bull, based on the very few posts of yours outside of this thread that I happen to stumble across in passing, you seem like a pretty intelligent, clever and humorous guy. I don't quite understand why you feel it's necessary to be "... an obnoxious prick", but as I stated above, people have a choice on how they want to come across.

Before I continue, I would just like to say that I'm not sucking up - nor do I expect you to change your ways.

Imagine if you will, someone at work coming up to you 5 times a day and telling momma jokes that are not even funny. And the person tells them whenever the mood strikes them, even if you're in the middle of working on something important or having a discussion with someone else. And he tells them loud enough, so that everyone within a 10 foot radius can hear what he is saying. When you tell the guy to STFU, he just looks at you and says, "Hey Bull, suck it up buddy. Since we work here at the same company, you have to put up with my crap - just as much as everyone else does. If you can't deal with it, why don't you just go find yourself another job!" Nice.

"... move from home from under your mothers apron." That's a good one.
