yokemad,

Most of the time on asphalt having all of the toe in inboard helps generate more traction/steering and stability... I know it sounds kind of backwards having it do those things all at once... but the toe in on the inside acts to sort of "bind up" the rear suspension similarly to how antisquat would... this helps with forward accelleration, weight transfer, and mechanical grip.

Why is that?

Either way, there is some grinding + shimming needed (unless you are comfortable hanging the pack way off of the chassis).
what if i grind one side of the humps... will the pack avoid rubbing the spur when the humps are facing down???

will i still need to shim the top deck once ive done this???

You'll still need to shim. The pack is pretty tall compared to the Trakpower/Orion/Core batteries.

alright, i picked up a U.S. spec 008. im going to be running a 17 turn motor. Im having trouble finding the right size pinoin gear. The car has a 116t 64p spur. If anyone could point me in a direction, that would be awsome

With a 27 turn motor we run around a 31-32 on carpet. With 19 turn its pretty close to the same or 1 tooth larger on the pinion. I would start with a 30 and see how that runs.

I use a 100t in my foam 13.5 008. If it was out there, I would prefer a 96t simply to get the pinions smaller. 104t should work.

Is anyone running the MaxAmps packs in their T2 08?

If not, why?

Max amps batteries are good bashing batteries, not matched style for racing.

I run the SMC 4000 pack and highly recomend it.

i am thinking about buying a t2 008 eu 6 cell for my team to run at the SIR 24hour enduro coming up in october. i read that people were having issues with the belts lasting for a couple of runs. i need to know will the belts be able to survive for a full 24 hours with a 13.5 without having to be replaced?

LOL - since these cars and their parts are not designed for around a 24-hour enduro, I would suspect several parts that could break. Within a 24-hour enduro, you basically put 365-days worth of wear on the cars parts in 1-day.

The belts should last, but depending on track conditions (dust, rocks, etc...) they might not look to good afterwards. I would have an extra diff on hand, as well as several bearings.

I have run my 008 for 5 weekend club races at 4 heats each and have NO wear at all I would think they would be fine
