Anyone got an idea on the maximum FDR I can run with a Tamiya Sports tuned, (87t spur with the upgrade pulley kit) without cooking the motor?

Thanks!

Well I just got back on the Xray train, bought myself a t2'008. Gunna be running 19T on ashpalt... any tips or tricks I should know about before I start the build? Last Xray that I built was a T1FK, so I'm hoping for the same ease of assembly and use.

Yes, buy some extra belts. The new split pulley design on the layshaft is eating the belts more quickly than the previous single-sided double pulley design. And since the Rubber cars use even smaller layshaft pulleys, the belts are unraveling even quicker.

Other than that, the '008 is just as robust but better than all previous versions.

Enjoy.

Even if true, which we don't know, who cares. Some of the best ideas in the world are borrowed ones. Where Xray succeeds, others fail.

Another point here, if Xray is guilty of copying, than I guess all other brands other than Novak are guilty of copying them. Novak was the first to produce sensored brushless motors and ESC's for the use in RC Cars. Also the first to include color bands to identify motors, the first to offer sintered rotors, the first to produce a Brushless and Brushed capable ESC, etc, etc, etc.... That means LRP, Speed Passion, Trinity, Orion, Peak, etc.... are all using borrowed, COPIED, motor and ESC technology.

Thanks!

Try 5.5 FDR. At least that is what I used when I play in last year TCS with TT-01 chassis. Balanced power.

Has anyone had problems with the front universal drive shafts on their T2'008? mine sound as if they are binding every time they spin, only when the wheels are turned

I've pulled them out, taken them apart and nothing obvious... everything else on the front has been checked and no binding at all, just the chattering driveshafts.

The car is built to the kit specs.

Any help appreciated.

Check the set screw you're using on the axles!!! You must use the right size or else they'll bind. You gotta use the really short ones...and also make sure you add the grease

Anybody that has run a 17.5, can you tell me how it compares to a co-27 or 27T brushed motor.
