I would eally like to get a 96 spur on there but I can see where it wil interfer with getting to the motor screws. The other 08 I run for mod I have been playing witha 116/21 gearing on a 3.5 Novak Lightwind and the Tc....but I think its just a tad off still.

If your running 10.5 I really like 96 tooth lol.. some RW action going on, Actually any of the majors will fit if it has a 6 hole pattern. Kimbrough 96 is what I had in my oval box. So I sanded the spacer and vola, it works. Just flip the layshaft backwards.. That will do till my RW order comes in...

Thats about what I was thinking...the track flows pretty well. Due to my work schedule I get zero practice during the week so hitting the mark asap has its advantages lol....I'll probably start at 96/40 and go from there.

I started running brushless this season.. so I had every gearing estimate to short.. so now I just gear it to the moon till the motor stops liking it and its slugish.. not the way I would suggest.. But I started gearing 10.5 motors at 7:1 on asphalt.. and ended up with 4.9-5.3 lol..

Wow! BL is a bit wierd seems the hotter the motor 10.5 vs3.5 the old gearing theory kinda goes away. Outdoors I tried a 116/18 and would thermal but inside it havent thermalled yet and have run upto a 116/21 so far with the same 3.5....go figure.

also consider ambient temp.. its probably nice and cool inside.. so you can take advantage of that.. and unless I missed something I dont think you will thermal the motor on the orion.. I know you can melt LRP motors.. But just keep an eye on the temps..

Well after the 28th we are downsizing the track to the size Omaha runs in hopes of getting the gearing close before Nats....so I get to start all over again lol.....

Personally my usual order is f/r arms, rear hubs, c hubs in 2,4,6s more 4s then 2, 6...steering blocks, a few extra screws and the metal inserts for the front c hubs. They tend to go flying when you break. I also toss in a 2 of each belt. That should about cover it. just really depends on how rough your track is on cars. Mine are all 2x4 boards so when you hit in mod things go everywhere...lol

you guys break things? lol, with the new 4 degree hubs I am not convinced they won't break. But I would buy some diff outdrives, m3, 2.5 grub screws in case one comes out, cross pins for the cvd's. I wouldn't bother with the 2 and 6 degree hubs. I would just buy those if you need them later on. I didn't even end up using 6 degree hubs with my foam car. spur gears(depending on class ex 10.5 I would get 92,96,100 from rw or similar), pinions for 10.5 in the 38-45 range. Swaybars, 1.4 front, 1.2 rear. That was one of the fiew changes I made to the stock setup that required parts.. maybe -.75 / +.75 hubs if you want setup options for quick changes.. belts, the usual front arms rear arms hubs f/r
