Hi Guys,

Just ordered my first xray touring car after running Schumacher cars for the last 4 years. Anyone let me into any build tips, things I should know, good online shops for spares etc (i'm in the UK) Look forward to putting it together if the reputation of xrays is anything to go by.

i'm curious to know if any of the team drivers had these problems because they won a lot of races with this car already so they must have corrected them in order for the car to work properly. i would think that these problems would have been addressed previous to the kits release or at least supply the early release kits with the information of how the team drivers remedied these issues.

oh, the reason for this post here is because i can't post it on the xray site because i registered on the xray site long ago and cannot log on anymore. i don't know why. i also emailed the administrators several times with no reply. i am an xray customer.

Thanks Chris

Looks like I'm going to have to do some small mods for running 6 cell until I can get my lipo packs. Still looks like a great bit of kit, i'm looking forward to the build and to running it.

Cheers

which LIPO are you thinking about getting? The 4800 size will fit in the 007 EU with .5mm shims under the top deck, the 008 they fit no problem from what the site says.

Here is a question to you 008 5-cell owners: is the pinion-rub an issue with 5 cell? I can't tell for sure by the pictures but it seems like it is not.
If I was right then the European Teamdrivers wouldn't be able to help because all of them are running 5-cell... wonder how it is with the US chassis? Are the batteries placed the same as the 6-cell EU? If they are there will be some unhappy buyers once the kits start to hit the US stores.

Does anyone have any ideas regarding the supply of T2 '008 expected to hit our shores? Will there be enough to go around, or will there be an immediate shortage?

I have to tell you, though, after reading some of the posts on the xray forums, I'm slightly nervous about the '008. Specifically, the pinion and belt clearance issue when racing stock. The pinion/battery issue seems to be resolved.

This will be my first Xray, I hope that I don't regret buying the '008.

also you cant get the correct gearing for stock with the 84 spur beause the biggest pinnon that'll fit in is a 28 (maybe squeeze in a 29)
