We've been running B/L 13.5s with a 108 spur and 35-37 pinion. Works well on our small carpet track.

I modified a Robinson 81 tooth gear in 48 pitch, and in my opinion you have to run the smaller spur for brushless. Also Xray has listed a 78 tooth 48P gear for the '008, its hidden in the parts breakdown, but its there.

Get yourself a 96T or 100T spur by PRS, then use a 37T to 39T pinion.

Here is something to think about. The Corally RDX came out when? As they made improvements over the years, they were all for the same car. The PHI comes out almost a year ago and all the "breakables" were interchangeable, leaving you the option to buy the new car or keep your RDX without worrying about being able to get parts still for it. The car is how old? And it still gets the job done. Losi came out with the JRXS and alittle over a year later, the Type R. There improvment to those two cars were drastic, warrenting a completely new kit. X-ray is alittle out of hand with all these cars!! Someone said on the first or second page, he didn't even get into the full potential of his car before it was replaced! I had an FK04 and loved it, then I got the FK05 and loved it more! When the T2 first came out, alot of us hadn't even unlocked all the secrets of the 05! They assured us that parts avalability for the FK04 and 5 would still be, within months, they were pulled, forceing many of us to buy new cars without an option. For that simple reason, I will never own another X-Ray car ever. They are great cars, don't get me wrong, but who's to say that this years model is not gonna be obsolete in 6 or 7 months and no parts will be avalable for it in a year. At over $450 for a new car, thats not something to gamble with! Don't kill me with your replies, it's just my opinion.

i respect slayers opinion,i my self have a fko4,and i love it,but guess what, cant race it any more cose of parts avilability, its sure slower may be 1/10 of a second then 007,but i feel x ray is twisting ur arms to retire an older car,by choking the parts.
i read some one comments that we dont complain when the real cars produce a new model evry year, true but i can get parts for 15 yrs old car still.
so go ahead xray and make new kits evry year,no objection to that, but keep ur parts department open to some older car parts, anyways it feels good when u beat some one with the 007 kit while u still racing an fko4.

That why I have stuck with the Corally, The RDX has been around for years and still gets the job done!

Slayer,

Your full of it...

You dont have to go out and buy the latest and greatest each time. Do you go and buy and new full size car each time a new one comes out.

e.g.... the parts for the 07 Mercedes are still available, the new 08 is out now, so do you have to change, because the new 08 is faster by 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. Dont worry about Xray if you are not going to buy it.

So try your argument on the Corally forum.

I think the concern is that when a car is replaced by something newer, the old car no longer evolves. Top drivers stop working on setups, updated parts don't get released, and eventually spares get harder to find. It's like the car is stuck in time, perhaps without realizing its full potential.

The original RDX is actually a pretty good example. Look at how much it changed from the time it was released until the time the Phi hit the market. Entirely new chassis designs, bulkheads, arms, etc.

Now, I realize that comes with problems of its own, but from an owner's perspective, it sure was nice being able to purchase one update at a time and bolt it onto my existing car to see how it changed things for me.

One of the reasons for a "FORUM" is so others can voice "OPINIONS"! I can still get parts for my 91 Camaro even thought it's almost 2008 and the car has been out of production since 2002. Your example was piontless! I was killing the T2 and the 007 with my FK05 till I was unfortunante enough to break the ever plagued chassis on the early FK's. And could no longer get the parts! Thats my opinion on X-Ray, calm down with the keyboard aggression.

thats an example of a guy with no opinion on a subject, but opinion on people, and trying very hard to be funny,in a sercastic way.
post ur thoughts, and focus on the subject,if u dont know how, pull out posts by syndrome,he is a class act, always have good opinions, posts his experiences with chassis or a new products, which what the racers wanna hear, and he stays away from calling people names,or attacking their posts
peace brother
