I recently got a used T2'008 US Edition and I'm starting to put it together with different electronic parts. I bought two CheckPoint 4900mah lipo batteries and just now tried to put on in and realized it doesn't fit under the top deck. Is there something I can do to make them fit or do I need to get different batteries?

Every track is a little different but there are a number of things you can try doing.

Drew already recommended narrowing the front track width a bit from the inside... if you have the optional -0.75 mm hexes these in the front can sometimes work for what you're looking for.

You may also want to try experimenting with your shock inclinations as well. Try moving your front shocks in a hole to see if you get that mid/exit steering you're looking for. If that doesn't work, moving the rear shocks in a hole might do the trick.

Sometimes it's just about finding the right combination for your tires, track conditions, and driving style.

I would recommend looking at some of the rubber tire carpet setups that the guys have put on the xray forums as well!

What gives me more steering? I know Narrowing front end helps but I use Front Multi diff and tried 1mm spacers instead of 1.5mm but it's not possible to use them as cvds too long with plastics on them does anybody tried 1.15mm with Multi diff?
Or what else gives me more steering especially for mid corner and corner exit...
Thanx in advance

EA makes a tray for the lipo check it out on his thread in the motor dept. And it is ok to let the pak hang off EA has a pic of his car you angle it in to the front and let it hang off in the rear the tray helps that stay in place to that is how I ran mine at the IIC and it was a SMC 5000 it work good,if you do not want to do that the SMC 4000 fits fine...Hope that helps Drew

Drew, is this the post you are referring to?

That sucks, I was trying to avoid it not fitting and the packs listed as fitting in a standard 6 cell tray. I can't tell from the picture how it's staying in place.

The tray EA sells is under the pak the some place you got the pic from has a pic of the tray you doulbe side tape the pak to that, then tape the pak in the car...For sure it don't look pretty but until the rest of the world catch up with lipo this is how it has to be done if you want to run a 4500 pak or up ...Like I said the SMC 4000 fits fine no mod no hanging off the side but you still need that plate for the weight....Later Drew

The SMC 4000 pack will fit. The 5000 will require the top deck to be raised 1mm or mounted like the pic below. The trinity IP3800 will also fit without raising the top deck. Those are the only two I know of besides 3200 packs.

Orion 3600/3800 fit

the new trackpower 5100/5000 will fit in a t2008 eu too. I saw this for the first time at IIC vegas. this pack has a flat bottom and clears the top deck. I don't know if it works with those nice battery plates.

You can also buy just the slot fillers. Not as much weight added, but doesn't increase the height of the pack.

Why does it fit in the EU and not the US Edition?

Because of 1 mm difference in chassis thickness (EU comes with 2.5mm chassis, US with 3.5mm )
