Default 2007 ROAR On Road Electric Nationals

Seattle Indoor Raceway is pleased to announce we will be hosting the 2007 ROAR Paved On Road Nationals. SIR is a local hometown track, however we are no stranger to hosting and organizing large events. For the past 3 years SIR has been the host for the Tamiya TCS Regionals. This year was the biggest Regionals in history for this area and one of the largest in the country with 150+ entries with 100+ people. SIR has also been the host of several ROAR Regional events. The bottom line is the guys at SIR are committed to make this race a fun and exciting time for everyone!

Seattle Indoor Raceway is conveniently located less then 5 miles from Seattle/Tacoma Intl Airport. Within a 4 mile radius there are 30+ available hotels, one within walking distance. The largest mall in the area is located 2 miles away, also around the mall are many places to eat and shop.

If you already made plans to attending the race at Peel-It Raceway then this change only means less work for you. SIR is closer to the airport and with way more accommodation options. The time and schedule have not changed at all.

Accommodations:

See satellite photo of business complex for exact location.

Driving directions from Seattle/Tacoma Intl Airport.

Left on S 176th St
Head 4 miles down the hill
The road will turn into S. 180 St.
Right into Springbrook II business complex (If you see IKEA on your left you went to far)
SIR is located in the back southwest corner of the complex

Shipping:

SIR will accept and store packages in a secure locked room before the event. Please make sure the person's name that is picking up the package is on the To/From label because we will be checking ID's. Mail packages to the following address.

Seattle Indoor Raceway
C/O 2007 Nats YOURFULLNAME
7633 S. 180th St.
Kent, WA 98032

We have regular shipments from UPS and Fedex at the hobby shop. If you package and attach pre-paid shipping labels we can arrange pick-up services after the race. Otherwise there is a Fedex/Kinkos and US Post Office 2 miles from the track just on your way back to the airport.

Online coverage:

ROAR has arranged with LiveRC.com to provide live timing and scoring broadcast along with audio for all ROAR National races in 2007. We are investigating adding a live video feed from one or many cameras around the track. More details to come.

Pits:

Pits are a first come, first serve, starting Wed morning 8AM. There will be reserved areas for sponsor's teams which will be clearly marked. You will be able to leave your stuff in your pit all week if you choose to do so. Due to the expected amount of entries we will have a pit space in an adjoining warehouse in addition to the track side pits. The pit space will have tables, chairs, power, PA system, and live race timing video feed. Plenty of outlets will be provided, however bringing your own power strip is recommended. Pit space size will be approx 30" x 30". There will be no shelves provided in the pit spaces, if needed please bring your own.

On-site Hobby Shop:

SIR has a full service onsite hobby shop. We carry spare parts for several of the major brands. Feel free to contact the shop to inquire if we stock parts for your given chassis. We have plenty of common use items and ones you can't take on the plane; motor spray, shock oil, bearing/bushing lube, etc.

Handouts:

The handout motor for the stock class will be the Trinity CO27, for 19t the Trinity cross-wrap Komodo. The hobby shop will have extra handouts for sale in addition to the one included with your entry.

The handout tires will be RP-36 glued and mounted tires. We choose this compound after extensive testing and found it provided very good traction and performance with minimum wear. Tire compound is open to any available brand/type.

See official entry form for pricing and more details on handouts.

Internet Access:

SIR will be providing free open wireless internet access throughout the entire track and both pit areas.

Nice post, Anthony..that's probably the most coherent thing I've ever seen on RC TECH. This should be a great race.

FJM not yet we have an idea but we are waiting for the care pkg from Schumacher so that we can test all the compounds. We have 2 of them tested already. The goal is to be able to make a decision by Friday. I gave all my employees a 4 day weekend so that I can be down Friday AM early to get to the final choices.

Due to Reedy gobbling up all the RP-30 tires we will *might* not able to complete tire testing this week. Stay tuned, as soon as they arrive we will have some news.

anyone coming to nats and looking for a little cheaper place to stay, do a seach for auburn washington and look up the motels, the only one i have in memory right now is days inn. nothing fancy, but it has a casino right out front, plenty of places to eat and a "meat" market right next door. i can give you rides to and from the track. its 15 minutes away,
