Default tamiya 11T mod gearing

im gonna go buy this motor tommrow along some pinions, what should i gear it at? (evo3)

internal gear ratio - 2.2
current spur - 96T
pinion- what should i get?

64 pitch

Your internal ratio is 2.6 not 2.2. you should use a 35 tooth pinion for a small track and a 36 tooth pinion for a big track. Set the motor timing at about 12 degrees.

2.6! sorry my bad...forgot isn't 2.2 ta04's? mighta got them mixed up. the track is really big, for nitro's so yea. i might get like 36-38's
...i currently hav a 39. i'll give that a shot to

You will burn your motor. a 37 is as high as you can go but even that is pushing it. The 36 works best on a long nitro track.

Yes I am. Love it for stock and 19t but find the drivetrain a little to fragile for open mod motors.

have you tried the type RR? how does it compare to the 11T mod?
