interesting info on lithium based batteries

i got bored and went onto wikipedia. there is some good info on lithium ion/polymer batteries there, that some of you may find interesting. i know it says Lithium ion on the title, but theyre basically the same battery technology to li-po, so take a look and keep your cells in the freezer

the top one (lipo) is related to our current products. the 2nd entry (li-ion) seems to be what you are referring to in relation to temperature. I have not read anything that says to store the batteries at 100% charge, while I have heard numerous times to store them with some charge. Keep in mind that the chart is referencing an entire year. So if you only race once a year this might mean something to you. Other wise the self discharge concern is nothing to be worried about.

ps.. you can catch a glimpse of how one type of lithium batteries are made on Episode 13 of "How Its Made". Quite interesting from how they start with to how thin the lithium gets.
