Default Tamiya F103 LM

hey guys,

i know this car is a bit old... but i have a few questions, a buddy of mine cleaned his garage out and found this great Rc car brand new in the box , he had never finshed building the car ... heres my questions , would it be worth taking it?? and 2 could i put and electronic seed control in it ? (it comes with mech. speed control) not top mention it has probly the best body on it Joest Audi R8R...?? i am a newbi to electrics...

That is one of the better cars in that series- take it, finish it (w/decent electronics) and have fun. Check the Tamiya site for support. Don

really... im gonna snatch it up then, but will the Courage Body also fit on the F103 LM???

they seem real similar...just minute changes...

and is the black can a good motor??? should i get a silver can?? which is better ?>

I believe the black can motor is the sport tuned, it would be a little better than a regular silver can, you should have no problem putting an ESC in the car at all.

If you're looking for a forward/brake esc the Novak GTS is a great sport level speed control.

If you need reverse, the LRP Quantum Sport line has several forward/reverse models that would work well.

don't run it, ebay it, then use the money to by a 5th wheel and retire. ok well maybe not. but it is worth more money then it is actually using it.

I'd build it and put it on a shelf. Then buy a NIB F103GT so you can run that one.

Just go on ebay and look up how much the Audi shells go for. Tamiya makes great shells and that's where most of their collectability comes from. Yours is a good pick up but not rare like hens teeth.

which batteries would be best to run longer run times, i dont really want li-po's though, ill be useing the novak GTS ESC...with the tamiya Black and silver can motor....

and how does an ESC burn out or stop working what causes this ???

In general the higher the number on the pack ig 4600, 3300, 1200. is the Mah. which will give you more run time . think of it like a gas tank.
